  • Right I have managed to find out how to reduce my overdraft, i have set it up from  April for £50 a month and I will call at the end of the month to pay the additional £50 this hopefully will give me a little bit just in case throughout the month especially over the summer.
  • So after 2 days away i am back. Yesterday i went out for lunch and a few drinks with a friend, we do it about once a year, £44 spent but it was budgeted for, i also put £40 petrol in the car, I am hoping it will last until oh gets paid in 2 weeks.

Today, i have done a load of washing, some cleaning and took dd to a nice park to meet up with a friend, dd and her daughter played mini golf and then we walked around £9.20 spent on parking and golf, took dd to her club tonight and ate all food from stores.

Tomorrow I am visiting my sister for an hour and meeting up with a friend afterwards, budgeting £10 on drinks in the coffee shop again we only meet up every school holiday so it will be nice, I also aim to get some cleaning done as always and put away another mountain of washing, I will do a proper list shortly.

I have increased a few of my debt repayments, by around £5-10 a month, every bit helps. Moneywise i dont have a lot but i have enough to get me through the month.

    Tomorrows plans
    Lsd
    Visit sister
    Meet up with friend
    General housework
Deposit cheque as its dated 3/4
Dd having a friend over so need to look for something that meets their dietary needs hopefully i have something in thats suitable.
    All food from stores
    Put mountain of washing away
Sort out handbag as its full of junk
Put blankets on sofas to protect it when dogs jump on it
Have a look at home insurance to check if renewal prices have been uploaded to account - i am planning on moving I don't like the company and not very helpful
Wash trainers - mine and dds are really dirty after holiday
Sort out bedside table - as with the handbag lots of junk/rubbish in there
    Walk 6000 steps

Definitely think its a long but doable list especially as most of the things are 5-10 mins jobs but i always forget about them so if i can check back, which i do often throughout the day it helps me.
  • Its good to see you back and doing really well with being MS and list busting :)
  • Hello @jusferbrowsing how lovely to speak with you again, yes I am back to making my lists.

How are things with you?how is debt busting going?
  • So today has been a lovely day, not managed to get all my list done, mainly due to an issue i had this morning and spending 1.5 hours on the phone to broadband provider trying to fix the Internet but its done now!

I also visited my sister and met with friend, £7 spent i did spend an additional £8.50 on some bits (reduced in supermarket) done quite a bit of driving the past few days so hoping to reduce it down a bit to save the petrol.

    Tomorrows plans
Take dd to club -£3 to spend
Treat dd and friend to lunch (£5 budget)
    Put washing away
Sort bedside table out with rubbish
Put blankets on sofa as a cover
    Breakfast and tea from stores
Have a relaxing evening with dd
    General housework
    Walk 6000 steps
Wash coat as it needs a freshen up

Thats enough for tomorrow to be making a start with...
  • Hi @Getridofdebt66, I've read through your whole diary over the last few days (got a 3 week old baby so lots of cuddle time and feeding time available for reading diaries on here!)

I love the lists, I've been trying to do that a bit myself to keep focused on the things that are a priority for the day. Your debt reduction has been amazing, especially with the reduced income for a period of time, you've done well to stay so focused on it!
  • Hello @FacelessNumber
    Congratulations on the baby!
Thank you for your kind message, my lists are very mundane but they help me focus and try and stay on the straight and narrow spending wise and with jobs in the house, it isn't interesting but i have tried so many ways and find the lists help a lot.
The debt busting has certainly been a game changer but its more about my thinking and my credit score has been my focus, i know a lot on here say its a number and it is but seeing it improve, working out when defaults will drop off and the figures of what i owe is again another focus. I dont want any further debt until i can get a mortgage and tbh if i can keep doing what i am doing and  once everything is paid off i will work towards the biggest deposit i can get within a specified period of time, probably 5 years...again this is dependent on when my defaults come off, i would like a nice looking credit score by that point.
  • So ive been quiet for a few days and that is because i took some time to just rest, Friday was a nsd, i did have my hair done but oh paid which was a nice treat.

Today was a hsd as i had the food shop and spent £2.47 on 2 bits for oh i had forgot from the local shop, it happens and tbh it is rare for me but i forgot to ask and oh forgot to tell. I had some chicken that didnt defrost yesterday (i cooked something else from the freezer rather than a takeaway) so we had chicken wraps for lunch it was lovely and tbh not something i do often but i will from now on as it was a hit in our house (dd has maintained for years she hates wraps but ate every bit today so fingers crossed for a turning point) i went to my mums for tea and then came home and watched a film with dd, changed beds and washed them, general housework done too.

Also i have managed to create a standing order for my monzo account, from payday this is going to be my main account for spending i have a budget of £120 a week this is to cover - shopping, petrol and any other things i may need to see me through each week and if there are any other bits left in my account where my wages are it leaves me little chance of touching it to hopefully start paying things down and it is me being more strict on the budget and will stop any one off takeaways etc, this is my plan not sure how it will go but i am going to try.

Tomorrow i have a busy day getting ready for being back at work, i also want to cook some bits i have found in the freezer that will be eaten in no time as snacks.

    Tomorrow's plans
Take dd to club- £3 to spend
Dd is going out with her friend so drop her off after club
    All food from stores
Iron uniform and work clothes ready for the week
    Relaxing bath
    General housework
    Cook snacks from freezer
Prepare bag for return to work
Walk 6000 steps - watched charged and ready to go, also put by the door so i don't forget
Cancel current insurance at renewal as i have a new provider, price went up slightly but better cover and more cover along with better reviewed provider
Do an upto date budget to see how much i have coming in and going out with recent rent and council tax increases.
  • Had a lovely day today, managed to power through most of the list although i was very tried, moneywise spent £3 on dd club and £3.75 on some sweets and drinks for dd to take with her when she went out with her friend...there was also drinks and sweets for her friend too.

Back to work tomorrow so the lists will be shorter.

    Tomorrow's plans
    Work
    All food from stores
    General housework
    Nsd
Put last load of washing i have done tonight away
Relook at the budget as i didnt get done today as tbh i just forgot about it.
    Walk 6000 steps
Call home insurance to cancel at renewal as they were closed today

Thats it as i am assuming i will be very tired after going back to work tomorrow so taking it slowly.
  • Well this week has been a quiet one, i have a chest infection, so been on antibiotics, on the plus side only spent £9.65 on a prescription and £20 yesterday on petrol to see me through until oh gets paid. I am feeling better already so that is a good thing!

This weekend i have quite a bit on but hoping to keep spends as minimal as I can. Not much to report on debt front or lift front atm.

    Todays plans:
Take dd to club - take drinks with us
    Change beds
    Washing and drying
General housework -need to blitz through my house today
    Visit mums for tea
Movie night with dd - will grab some popcorn and sweets £5 max spend
    Put washing away
If i have time i want to iron uniforms as tomorrow i am out all day
Try to fix my smart watch as its suddenly stopped working so not sure if it is the battery
    Post some letters
    Make a shopping list
Do a small food shop to see me through until payday -£30 budget for this (i forgot to do an online shop)
Do big shopping list for ohs payday and order the shop

I think thats enough to start today with, i will check in later with my update/list for tomorrow.
