Private Parking Solution - ticket despite having permit

Hi All,

I was visiting my family, and despite having a permit in my car which upon shutting the door must’ve been displaced because it was on the steering wheel, I got a ticket. Ticket states “Not clearly displaying a valid permit”.

I am waiting to use the blue template on the NEWBIES thread on the 27th day (of receiving the ticket) but is it worth mentioning and sending evidence of the permit and explaining the situation to them with the blue template? Because it was extremely windy during those days.

I will keep you guys posted on my progress.

Thank you in advance for any advice🙌🏻

Use the blue template and a one liner that a permit was displayed. Save everything else for PoPLA.

Meanwhile, please tell us what happened when you complained to the landowner, and what your family's lease/AST/property rental agreement says about visitor parking and parking permits as this will have primacy of contract over anything an unregulated private parking company says.
What it doesn't say is just as important.

You should also complain to your MP.

Have you considered that the permit might have been dislodged by a person or persons unknown bouncing up and down on the car?
Can you think of anyone who might benefit from that sort of behaviour?

The template appeal advice in the NEWBIE thread does in fact say to attach any evidence (like a permit, blue badge or receipt) but of course, NOT implying who parked.  So no writing 'me/myself/I' when talking about the permit or it fluttering.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you so much everyone, I will just explain briefly with evidence attached and leave the rest to POPLA stage, as suggested.

I hope they just understand and cancel it. I will keep you guys posted!

If you had a permit then they are likely to struggle if they are unwise enough to take you to court, read this and complain to your MP.

    Will do, thank you!

Quick question: The car belongs to my friend but I am just insured on it. Do I add my details at the bottom of the blue template or my friend's details (i.e the name and address)? Thanks

Re-read @Coupon-mad's post of 5 March at 3:37AM where she says...
...but of course, NOT implying who parked.  So no writing 'me/myself/I' when talking about the permit or it fluttering.

As the NEWBIES thread says, it is the keeper who should be sending the appeal.

The Keeper needs to appeal the charge using the template in blue from the NEWBIES Announcement.
If the vehicle had a permit, The Keeper should include a copy of it in their appeal having added a one liner that the vehicle had a permit and it was displayed.

Nobody else is involved. The Keeper appeals, and everyone else sits on their hands in the corner and says nothing!

Please also answer the questions I asked on the 3rd of this month, and tell us what your MP said.

"Meanwhile, please tell us what happened when you complained to the landowner, and what your family's lease/AST/property rental agreement says about visitor parking and parking permits as this will have primacy of contract over anything an unregulated private parking company says.

Thank you, I am trying to find the contact details of the land owner (agent hasn't got it). Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to complain to my MP but will do that even if it gets cancelled.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Sorry, I should’ve provided the update after I reset my password. You guys have been extremely helpful.

Since I can’t post on those threads, I will provide the update here.

    1. Ticket got cancelled at POPLA stage. McDonald’s manager said they can’t cancel it.

    2. Ticket got cancelled after using the blue template

    3. Missed the POPLA stage, contacted the garage but got no response. I got a few reminders that I should pay but haven’t heard from anyone in the last 8 months.

I can update the thread if I can get access to them!

Thank you for all your help!
