Abandoning your item in the shop is classified as you giving it away. It does not get you a refund. If you contact your card provider and start a chargeback then the shop will contest it and win.

Either go in and collect the item or get the voucher and use it against something else.

    How much was it?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

If you could just dump things on the desk of a shop and therefore win a chargeback, everyone would do it.
Unfortunately they're in the right here - when buying from a shop you have no right to return. A voucher is more than they legally have to give you; they could just tell you they don't accept returns.

You need a high speed HDMI cable for 4k they usualy always have High speed writen on them. If it's not then then it's not doing 4k.

It was your responsibility to check the item you purchased worked with what you wanted it for. It doesn’t seem they advertised it incorrectly either as it works with 4K, just not at a refresh rate you consider acceptable.

Ultimately you have no right to a refund. As someone else said if dumping an item with the retailer meant you could claim a refund everyone would do it. I suspect you’ve lost the money and the cable but you could go in and see if they remember you and accept the vouchers.

The cable is 1.4 so will do 4K, just not at the desired refresh rate

Would they not take the cable in part exchange for one that would suit your needs?

OP no longer has the cable now so would have nothing to part exchange even if CEX were willing.
