Tried to return item to CEX 5 minutes after purchase, no refund only voucher?

I bought a new, boxed HDMI cable at CEX yesterday. The box said "supports resolutions upto 2k" and "HDMI 1.4" spec. I live across the road, so got home and checked the HDMI 1.4 spec which does support 2k resolution but only upto 30hz (which isn't suitable for gaming or my TV which goes upto 60hz)
I took it back within 5-10 minutes and asked for a refund. The store would only offer me a voucher. I explained the box was unclear as to the spec and they said "you had enough time to read the box before purchase". I ended up leaving the cable there and am waiting for the transaction to clear before claiming a chargeback.
What are my rights here? Does them having the cable in their possession change things?

Go back and get your voucher, as you've now given away the cable but still need to pay for it.2

Seems you've donated a cable to them. They offered you a refund (via a voucher) which you refused.
As has been said you were not entitled to a refund for a change of mind and so the voucher went beyond what you were entitled to by consumer law.6 -

Leaving the item there doesn't automatically entitle you to a full refund. Either go back and collect, or accept the voucher.

None, the chargeback will be declined as there is no right of return for change of mind on in person purchases so you will end up without the cable and without the money.
HDMI 1.4 supports 4k @ 30hz and 1080p @ 120hz... there is no official statement on 2k but given its between the two other resolutions you'd expect the refresh rate to be too.2 -
