To follow up on an earlier post of mine on this thread - I had some back and forth with EON over direct message on twitter (I was asked to show that I'd tried to get the deal on Monday when I received the email about V11) and have now been put on V11.  This was dated from today so I'll now paying the new rates and as such will take a bit of a hit until the 'official' price cap goes up in April but I'm happy with that.

It really does seem to be very dependant on who you speak to.

Say you fix with a supplier and the capped variable rate drops below your fixed tariff. Can your supplier refuse a request to move to the variable rate within the fixed term contract length? Obviously exit fees may or may not apply.

I was told there was no exit fee with V11 and if my some miracle a better price came along I could just switch it. But considering the latest piece on This Morning from MSE is that in October the the cap is expected to raise by 45-50% it seems unlikely
