E.ON price increase just in – to fix or not to fix?

Sorry to hear that, but they honoured it to someone I know at around 11am this morning. Though they had spoken to EON Next yesterday about it and there was a record of the call on the account. Was always worth a try. I'm with Octopus, having been ported from Avro. Still waiting to get my account sorted, haven't been billed and don't think I can switch, even if there was a better deal out there.funkin said:
I just called E.ON - was on hold for 10 minutes and the lady who answered said that V11 was no longer available and only V12 is available. She said the offers change all the time and that it is not possible to go to V11.M4rkOne97One said:If you've had the email offering the v11 online tarriff, then why not ring EON Next up and see if they will honour it.

Just received email from EON Next re new tariffs offering me both a variable (Flex) and a 12 month fixed (V12 version). I have done calculations based on my annual consumption and prices would have to rise by more than 31% in October for the fixed tariff to work out cheaper over the next 12 months! As current 'best guess' is around 24% then logic says stay on variable though I am still looking for the crystal ball!!!!

I have phoned them today and they have honoured their e mail and given me the v11 tariff 😀0

Bear in mind that if you do a calculation based on typical summer (April through September) and winter (October through March) use your calculation re. the rise needed in October would change, and likely towards a smaller percentage increase in October making the fix cheaper. As above though, some are apparently still managing to get onto the V11 version in various ways.oldandwizend said:Just received email from EON Next re new tariffs offering me both a variable (Flex) and a 12 month fixed (V12 version). You sure about that? they've offered me 69% above their eon energy plan, which is lower than 54% rise 1st April plus likely 24% rise in October. Obviously the size of October rise unknown but surprised they've given you quote equating to 54% rise 1st april then 31% October.oldandwizend said:Just received email from EON Next re new tariffs offering me both a variable (Flex) and a 12 month fixed (V12 version). Bear in mind that the percentage rise in an individual's bills will depend on their usage, since this changes what proportion of the total cost is made up by the standing charge.kurtvonn said:

Fair enough, my standing charge cost is very small compared to usage cost , but guess if your usage is a lot lower than mine it can change things.Ultrasonic said:

Exactly. To give you an idea, as a low energy user the standing charge at the April price cap costs in my region would make up about 28% of my total bill.kurtvonn said:

Looking at this and other threads EON are still honouring the v11 tariff today. Maybe it depends on the person you speak too.funkin said:

Phone EON Next at 9am today (Thursday) and also got the V11 tariff. So for those still to try then keep trying be polite explain you got email and have been having problems getting through to them and you might still be lucky. It is said that there is a limit to everything.
