otb666 said:...Or we can end the agreement by giving you 42 calendar days’ prior notice. This tariff does not have any exit fees.////////But as I said before .The front screen says Good news! As you're on a fixed price tariff, your prices are protected until your tariff ends. There is nothing contradictory in those two statements, the tariff is protected until it ends, but they have reserved the right to end it on 42 days notice.Nothing there would give you any grounds for compensation if they did elect to exercise that right to end it.That clause is certainly not there to cover them going bust, they have that covered as all the tariffs terminate if they lose their supply licence just like all the energy suppliers, I would say it is precisely the opposite, it is there to help stop them going bust by being able to ditch the fix if the wholesale market goes completely crazy.

My tariff ends 31-3-22 and previously it said my fixed will go onto Flexible 6 and you could click to see tariff prices. As I will be on Flexible 6 for one day I wished to know the April price cap, only by reading this forum did I see that it would be called Flexible 7, not available to view on Shell website. The Chat option does not work and has not for days. I emailed them and got a reply listing Flexible 7 figures but no mention if it includes VAT.I am Southern area.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Your Flexible 7 tariff information will be sent to your email address when your currenttariff is about to end.Your Flexible 7 tariff is:Electricity -Unit rate 28.455p per kWh, Standing charge 43.39p per dayGas- Unit rate 7.479p per kWh, Standing charge 27.22p per day-------------------------------------------------------------------------------'About to end' is not very helpful for budgeting purposes. If you click on tariffs today---Sorry, we are currently unable to complete your request. When you joined Shell Energy, we promised we'd be in touch with more information about the Ofgem price cap review. Here's everything you need to know. The price cap is calculated by Ofgem (the UK’s energy regulator) to reflect a fair price, based on the true costs of supplying energy to the home. Our prices are changing to reflect high wholesale energy costs in line with Ofgem’s latest price cap review. This means that the amount you pay for your energy is changing on Friday 1 April 2022 when you move to our new Flexible 7 tariff. You don’t need to do anything as this change will take place automatically. Here’s how the price cap change affects your energy prices Annual Personal Projection Your current tariff: Flexible 6 Direct Debit ebill £363 Your new tariff: Flexible 7 £580 Increase in cost £217 Your gas rates will change from 4.169p to 7.479p per kWh and your standing charge per day will change from 26.11p to 27.22p. Your rates and projections outlined above include 5% VAT and are what we estimate you’ll pay over the next 12 months. This is based on your estimated gas consumption of 6,437 kWh of gas. Your actual costs will vary according to your usage. You can find the terms and conditions for your new Flexible 7 tariff by clicking here. If you’d like to view your current Flexible 6 Direct Debit ebill tariff terms and conditions, click here. What happens next On Friday 1 April 2022, you’ll automatically move onto our Flexible 7 tariff. This is your cheapest available tariff, based on today’s wholesale costs. It’s also protected by Ofgem’s price cap. The rates for this tariff are fixed until Friday 30 September 2022, when the price cap will be revised. Can I move to a fixed tariff? Rising wholesale energy prices mean that our flexible (standard variable) tariff currently represents the best value for our customers. Because of this, we don’t have any fixed tariffs available right now. We’re monitoring the situation closely and will be in touch as soon as we can offer a fixed tariff. When will I find out my new monthly Direct Debit payment? If you pay a fixed amount for your energy each month, we’ll be in touch over the coming weeks to confirm how much you’ll need to pay to cover your usage. Are other suppliers also changing their prices? The price cap impacts how much every energy supplier in the UK can charge per unit of energy. Suppliers will typically change their flexible (standard variable) tariff prices to reflect the latest Ofgem price cap review and the true costs of supplying energy to your home. You’re in safe hands As part of Shell group, we can offer you the security of knowing that we’re here for the long term. We’ve been proud to take on over half a million new customers whose energy suppliers have gone into administration during this unprecedented time. If you’ve chosen to change supplier, we’ll be sorry to see you go. We won’t charge you an exit fee but you’ll need to pay off any outstanding balance to avoid your switch being cancelled.† Need extra support? We know these are challenging times and we’re committed to giving our customers extra support where they need it. So if you’re struggling to pay your energy bill, you’ll find a comprehensive guide to what help and support is available to you via our support portal. Still have some questions on the price cap?
