Regardless of what happens this forum and the people that have contributed have been a help.

I will definitely be updating when news comes about. It's very frustrating reading posts and not finding the outcome

Thank you, that would be most helpful.

Tell us about it. It's even more frustrating when we've often put in hours of work over months of advice, only for the OP never offer the basic courtesy of just telling us the outcome. That is, until they cop another PCN - you might hazard a guess as to who is very reluctant to put in any more effort for them!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • So I've had a letter through the post (this was weeks ago) telling me they have received my defence and they have until 25th of this month to respond.

So far no response from them.

Their response will be to the CCBC who will then issue a Directions Questionnaire to you. Please check your MCOL history as the current state of play should be documented there (but only until such time as you've received and completed your DQ and a local court allocated).

Who did the letter come from? Did it actually state the bit in bold, or have you inferred this?

Or was the letter from CCBC and they've said they'll pass the defence on to the claimant, and they then have 28 days to decide whether to proceed? So you've inferred that the date must be 25-Apr-22? (The reality is that you don't know when CCBC actually did send on the defence, so you don't know when the 28 day clock actually starts ticking).

Follow the advice @Umkomaas provides. :)

It looks like the two instances of 'they' are referring to different people/organisations.

    And who are 'them'?

Whilst short messages are good, they need to be clear.

AHH I see. It does say 28 days from when the defendant receives a copy of my defence they must inform the court if they wish to proceed.

This letter was dated 25th march..

I have kept eye on MCOL, the only update being on the 25th march saying my defence has been received

    Or does it perhaps say...
...28 days from when the claimant receives a copy of my defence they must inform the court if they wish to proceed
