Slight out of date but don’t use E10 PETROL, especially on newer cars

if you can afford it go for the premium fuel, it might seem a lot more expensive but honestly it will give you better fuel economy and it will save you a fortune in the long run and irrelevant of what people say please please do not run your tank to empty, it picks up all the crap in the bottom of your tank.
If it was a issue then the US courts would be full of cases of people suing petrol companies & car manufactures for damage.
I thought that tanks had a filter & a inline filter to stop rubbish getting through. Which would only be a issue if it failed & it was a older car with a rusted tank.. Not what you would expect in a new car.
Certainly M/bikes do..
So within 6 months of the UK using E10 you are seeing problems, but what problems?Life in the slow lane2 -

The_Fat_Controller said:@coffeehound, fine in theory, the filter will stop most of the rubbish getting to your engine but it will get clogged itself and need replacing.
Why chance it ?Surely the dirt is in there already and the fuel is drawn up from the bottom of the tank anyway so why would having an inch of fuel in the bottom be any different to half a tank? The pump inlet doesn't drop any lower as the fuel level drops.9 -
I've never understood the argument that running your tank low introduces sediment to the supply. The take off for the fuel must be at the bottom of the tank else you'd end up with unusable fuel. In any case, the motion of a car even on the smoothest road would surely keep the tank contents nicely mixed?
An old wive's tale from a new poster? As for E10, my fuel filler cap even says E5/E10 on it.

For years I've run the fuel down to the light coming on and never seen any issues that match the scare-stories.3
