The second post of the NEWBIES thread explains the difference and offers guidance on creating a Witness Statement and gathering evidence.
But @Sasanova don't use the WS example by RobertCox linked there,  Read other 2022 threads and copy their WS bundle instead.

E-mail to the court is fine and also to the claimant's solicitors (if they are using one); hopefully you will have received something from them by e-mail so you know their e-mail address.

Email it to yourself as well. That way if the court received it and you received it, on the balance of probabilities the claimant's solicitor will have received it as well
It is not unknown for certain PPCs/solicitors to say that they did not receive these documents.

And when we say 'email the court' that is of course the local court, not Northampton CCBC.

Will you be posting here your redacted WS for comments?

C-m suggests using the following as examples:-

"As seen in recent WS bundles, such as the ones by @aphex007 (and @laurenjo12 this week)."
  • Yes I will post it here first to see what you guys think before sending it off to court but I didn’t realise I have to send a copy to dcblegal as well not that it’s a big secret.

After filing a Defence, a copy of everything you send to the court must be sent to the Claimant (or their solicitor).

Does it say on your Notice of Allocation, the Notice that gives the hearing date...
Each party must deliver to every other party and to the court office copies of all documents on which he intends to rely at the hearing no later than [ . . . ] [14 days before the hearing].
    Might be on the back.
Those documents you intend to rely on are your Witness Statement and evidence.

In your case 'every other party' means the Claimant's solicitor.
