The letter i've received tonight states I need to respond by the 24th march (tomorrow) but it also states payment must be made 7 days from the date on the letter which is the 17th march, seems pretty unreasonable as I only received it tonight.

Is it worth emailing to say I've only just received the letter?
Why would you want to do that?
Are you considering paying them whatever they are asking for?

    Who sent this letter?
Have you read the fourth post of the NEWBIES thread yet?

You can't appeal now as you didn't appeal to the IAS (would have lost anyway as it's a kangaroo court).  No big deal.

    No.

This is ex-clampers Excel and they don't give a flying fig!

You really need to read the NEWBIES thread (first 4 posts) as you seem unprepared for each stage.

You should read other Excel threads too because no newbie poster here has dealt with this before but the way they all win is to read the NEWBIES thread and other Excel threads and learn.  Everyone starts like you.

My initial thought was to see if they would give me extra time to pay, giving me more time to figure out what to do next.

I wasn't going to pay, the fine is now at £170.

    Excel Parking sent the letter.

I'm not sure what you mean my ex-clampers Excel

I'll have another look at those, I do feel like I haven't got a clue what to do now.

Do you think I've lost my case now because of how long I've left it?

Thanks for sending these resources, sorry to be a pain at this time of night, just feeling really stressed receiving this letter at 9pm when getting in from work.

Just after some idea of whether I should just leave it and wait to see if they take it to court or not or if i'm left it too late and just pay the fine now to have it over and done with

just leave it and wait to see if they take it to court.
Yep.  We'll help you as we do everyone else, and 99% of defendants here win.  No previous experience needed!  We'll coach you.  No risk, no CCJ, no huge costs, nothing risked by following our advice.

But when you can, read some other Excel threads and bookmark them to see how things pan out.  Winning in court is a great feeling when you beat a scam parking ticket.

Thanks for your confidence  gives me a bit of hope with it. Only issue I'm worried about now is, I checked through my bank statements and it appears that the payment for the parking never actually went through, so now I'm feeling like I havent got a leg to stand on in this case?

If you give the exact location you may be given extra help as others may have been caught there and there could already be threads on here about it that could be useful to your situation.
Apologies I completely missed these messages, the car park was 3 spires, Lichfield.
If you search the forum you will find loads of threads/discussions about this very car park.  Most posters are not happy bunnies!  If you put "Three Spires" into the search box and select discussions, Category is the parking sub-forum, deselect "ideas" and "Polls" and sort "Newest first".

Forum regular @Snakes_Belly is from the Litchfield area and knows a great deal about the car parks there. She has had her own tangle with Excel, it might well be at the same car park. I'm sure she'll pick up on this thread before too long to offer some thoughts.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
