I should've put the black bin out but the wind is too strong...and it's not even a quarter full. I'll reassess in the morning but I'm quite happy to leave it.
Rabbits put themselves in their hutch hours ago...I've fed them now.
Paid stuff tomorrow...so tempted to throw in the towel.

Hang on in there Valli. You're good at what you do, and those kids are lucky to have you rooting for them.
Better is good enough.8 -
Hope you're all safe, warm, dry and connected to the grid. Have lovely days all

Morning all. Hope everyone is safe and well. Clouds are racing across the sky here, but there's enough of a break in the west for me to see the full moon. Our internet connection (never very stable) is decidedly dodgy this morning, but we have power and I have the cuppa in my hand to prove it!
The painting is finished and the decorator is coming this morning to put back all the door handles/blinds/rails and curtains/light shades and replace the furniture that he moved. Then I can clean the DR thoroughly and start putting about 1001 things back in their rightful places throughout the downstairs rooms, decluttering as I go. Hopefully I will still have time to clean the LR and kitchen also, before I have to go to my routine horse piddle appointment this afternoon.
Has anybody else seen this BBC news item about a man who has "decluttered down to 460 items"? I think he is cheating by counting a file of papers as one item! I shall never be able to achieve that - for a start, I estimate that I have 250-300 books on my study shelves and probably another 100 in the LR, then there are the CDs...
Have the best possible day, and keep warm and dry xx7 -

Morning all,
We still have power but this is definitely the lull before the next storm. The snow is due to hit us around 3am and be heavy all day tomorrow with strong winds. I’ve already accepted the children’s school will likely be shut. I’ve managed to get a small SM delivery for today which will tide us over.
Sending you all love - stay safe and warm xx

I think it is really sad that he has nothing more.. I haven't seen it but my initial thought what 'poor man' .. having had a life and not have anythin to remind him of that.. no hobbies (they always need a million things) no books, no music.. it's just sad. I'd rather have my mess than such a cold and empty existence...
however, I do have 6 of the big Ikea bookcases filled with books .. and a half size bookcase.. all rammed.. I think I might donate all the books for toddlers to a few playgroups .. I will keep some for the grandbeasts but I think most can go.. oh.. I have 3 tesco crates of them in the shed too.. I may have a book problem.. My mother is the same and I can honestly say I haven't seen the male parent read a book in my entire life.. Haynes manuals do not count..Meem on one today.. I think she is brewing AF.. She only has her turn up every 3-4 months and I call it every time.. but she is going to be getting a flea in her ear very soon.I need to go check the bedding is still on the line.. it is beautiful and sunny here and gloriously windy so it should dry in no time..I will prep the next lot to go out and air the sheets in the dryer.. so fed up of washing lying about the house drying everywhere.
Squeak doesn't have a lesson until 1pm so she can get a shower and be dressed ready for orchestra and her cello lesson this evening.

Well, I'm in a rage this morning! Poxy wind and rain, plus repeated flood alerts and upgraded river level notifications kept me awake most of the night. Must have frightened the animals, as I found our little black pygmy goat dead in the hay barn this morning, which has really upset me.
Both my doggy daycare customers were late this morning - no apologies and both wanted to stand and chat...I wanted to scream at my two boys to get a f***ing move on and get I'd the *odding car, so we wouldn't be late for breakfast club.
OH gave me 24 hours notice yesterday, to cater for 50 people at his Trade Day event this morning, so I flung together two soups- Roasted butternut, red pepper and chilli and Cream of chicken and mushroom yesterday evening. Reheated and flasked up this morning and DH sent off with instructions to buy crispy bread rolls and spreadable butter. Now my kitchen is a total pit and due to the ground water levels, my DW isn't draining well and the hot water tap cartridge has broken, so no running hot water.

Is it too early for gin?11 -
Dizzy.. no.. have the gin! Put it on your cornflakes, pretend you ran out of milk.. So sad about little goat.. I love goats, they are so silly.. (((hugs))) ... Honestly.. sell the house.. I'd say burn it down but the river won't have any of that
There is no wonder you are stressed, I'm surprised you're not bald with it all!
Bed sheets were all dry so aired and folded.. off to hang out the next lot.. and be blinded by the sun
