Child & Co RBS Branch to close

Yes, I have one and posted before somewhere on this forum (I have to say that the C&C card is much better, persona they could use that colour scheme and just replacing the branding for future Drummonds card).WillPS said:There are Drummonds branded Visa Debit cards tho. Somewhere on this thread in fact someone posted theirs...
i have accounts at both C&C and Drummonds and whilst my wife received the letter about the closure (she only has an account at C&C) I actually never received mine, but I have to say that for the last 4 years (aside of when they were closed for refurbishment recently) I have actively only used the Drummonds branch, so I guess they somehow see me only as that Branch customer, therefore with no need to be told about the closure.
I drove by Fleet Street recently and it did feel like a dead part of town. It was never a busy branch, but I guess even their main customer base (lawyers) are working more from home post COVID and thus gave the branch the final nail in the coffin. In any case, there are giant posters in the windows confirming Branch Closure.0 -
Are the posters RBS or Child branded, incidentally?Marchitiello said:

I can’t actually remember, but I guess it may have been RBS generic.WillPS said:

We're going over old ground - retail (i.e. not Private) Drummonds customers get a standard RBS debit card by default not that version.Marchitiello said:

I can tell you that Retail (not Private) customers that bank in branch (not only virtually selecting a sort code when applying) do get the Drummonds branded card. Aside of me not being a “Private” client, a waiter I know that work in a restaurant nearby that I frequent weekly, and that I have seen in the branch, has the same Drummonds card.Deleted_User said:

I can tell you that Retail (not Private) customers applying remotely currently get a standard RBS branded debit Mastercard. Not sure the relevance of the HSBC card. The zero annual fee purple one looks much nicer IMO.Marchitiello said:

They are RBS branded. There’s a slightly tatty looking board in the doorway as well

You first said “old ground” and that retail customer get standard card. so I corrected that statement as Retail customers that actually bank in branch get the Drummonds card.Deleted_User said:

i also explained that the other card was there to cover personal details as it was the only one on hand that had “zero” personal details on the front (Santander Zero, Amex Platinum and Chase I also had on hand, all still had my name on the front side), thus making it easier to publish without having to use an editing /blurring app. It was not for relevance and once you are picking up on the design, the previous one with the Lion was better IMO. I have use for it still this year and then I may downgrade at some point, to upgrade back 6 months later (maximising bonus/Avios).3 -
Are you positive it's 6 months and not 24, as Rob@HfP seemed to think was the case? It's not covered in the T's&C's.Marchitiello said:to upgrade back 6 months later (maximising bonus/Avios)
(FWIW and OT I also think the old lion design was much, much better).0 -
Not positive but I also follow HfP (not participating though) and in the new sub forum (other credit cards) there has been a discussion pointing to the 6 months gap. For now I managed to get this year for free as my anniversary was earlier in the year whilst some people have since been told to have to pay the fee and I am actually making use of the Lounge access (we travel as 5 people often, 4 use Amex Platinum PP benefits and the 5th the lounge key access on the HSBC card.trient said:
