Well I'm a happy old woman this morning
1. Spoke to Virgin and got a great deal for 18 months at a very good reasoable rate
2. Then spoke to Southern Water and the very nice lady there confirmed I can still be on their 'essential tariff ' with a 20% discount and that the water bill is only increasing very slightly
3. Dug out a roll of frozen pastry I found in the freezer and a jar of mincemeat (a bit out of date but it smelt OK ) so its mince pie for a few days
4. My carrrot and coriander HM soup is delicious and I have enough left for several more days lunches
5. My new budget start today as its 1st of the month and not a great deal on my shopping list at the moment so it will be a low spend day
6. Although it snowed this morning the sun is out and its getting a bit warmer
7. Had an email from my local library to say the books I ordered online are all ready to be collected
So not too bad a Friday at all and its only just gone 11 :0
Have a great weekend chums

Isn't it great when we appreciate something as beautiful as a blue sky, or just daffodils bloomimg
Its the small things that cheer us all up I find.
1. I have 5 new books from the library that I ordered
2, My out of date mincemeat went into a pie, and is delicious
3. Another helping of my HM carrot and coriander soup for lunch today.
4. made a big jug of gloopy custard to top the said mincemeat pie
5. The sun has returned and although it was a hard frost overnight, its crisp and feels very fresh this morning

I've done next week's meal plan and don't need anything at all from the shops as I'm using what I already have. That's a whole week's grocery cash saved.
Today I've baked fruit scones, some vol-au-vent cases that I had in the freezer from Xmas (egg mayo and garlic mushroom mayo for the fillings) and a fun size pepperoni pizza, bought ys for about 20p. The scones and vol-au-vents will do for lunchtimes and I've already eaten half the pizza.
I've started knitting baby clothes to use up some of my yarn stash (not for me, family, or friends - they will go to the local hospice for their summer fayre).
It isn't very warm today but the sun is shining and, even better, it's not raining or snowing! I always feel better when the sun makes an appearance.
Be kind to others and to yourself too.6 -
I have money on both prepayment meters
i have a fridge full of food - I get a supermarket delivery twice a month.
the village I like to walk to has replaced the benches on the green, where I like to sit with my thermos of coffee. The old ones were falling apart so am pleased I can now safely place my backside

If I park myself in the kitchen and the sun is out I am bathed in warmth all day! Doesn't work before February. - must be something to do with the tilt of the earth? - but yesterday was so lovely, I actually dropped of whilst reading a book.
I was pranked by a colleague on Friday - work was so intense I didn't pay much attention to the date - but my shameful stupidity in falling for it made me laugh for the rest of the day.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.6 -
Sunny here but not warm.

Good morning everyone, although it's a very wet one at the moment in my corner of Kent and not that warm
1. My DGS Henry came home for a few days yesterday from Uni, and I am taking him out for lunch to feed him up.He is so thin bless him His share of heating bills in his house share is £90.00 a month so he's been skipping meals I think.
But I have a voucher for a pub chain so I shall feed him till he pops at lunchtime I've made him some biscuits to nibble on while he is here At DDs last night he filled his boots with a roast dinner his Dad made and I was pleased to see him do it ,although I worry he's not having enough to eat.
2. He only has until the end of next month then he will be home for good, so I've doubled his monthly allowance I send him to make sure he has grocery money.
3 All my washing I managed to get dry yesterday as it was breezy.
4. DGS Mikey is doing OK and has got extra shifts at his weekend job, and is stshing his cash towards Septemeber when he too goes off to start Uni
5. DGS Jack the second eldest boy has got an interview for a permanent teaching job at the school he is at and has his fingers crossed that he will get it (so have I)
6. DD who was positive with covid tested clear this morning, her OH is also clear so fingers crossed they will get to go out to NYC to see eldest DGS Danny whom they should have gone to 10 days ago They have rebooked the flight for the 26th of this month
7. Youngest DD got me a lovely pot of miniture daffs yesterday which I have in the conservatory at the moment
So all's good in my world at the moment ,How are the rest of you doing ?
