  • thanks everyone - you've really helped

it's so hard not to worry about everything lol - my mum keeps telling me its only the start and i'll worry 10 times as much when the bump arrives :)

as my oh keeps reminding me - we have the 4d scan thingy on tuesday so i'll see the bump in all his/her glory then :)

    thanks again x
The 4d scan is amazing; we had ours set to "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" (George Michael version). I wouldn't recommend the home heartbeat monitor; we used it once with difficulty, and put it back in the box after. My wife is a larger lady and also sometimes didn't feel anything for days, but get in touch with the maternity ward if it reassures you. Just wait til baby becomes mobile, then you'll have plenty to worry about!
    Been away for a while.
  • SVmitche what does 28+4 mean? Does that refer to your fundus measurement? Unless you spend alot on the doppler they don't work. When you are quite far gone - get in a bath and watch the ripples and the 'alien' moving - seriously a real Sigourney moment quite spooky.

Reference to the length of gestation i.e. number of weeks + number of days of the pregnancy.

I'm an overweight pregnant lady myself (28+4) and have had all the 'you must be careful', 'diabetes', etc etc but so far there's been nothing to worry about - yay!

Same here! I had all sort of doom and gloom imprinted on my brain, my GP was confused when I kept asking her when the diabetes or pre-eclampsia was going to set in!

OP, I was paranoid too about not feeling the baby. I felt him once at 20 weeks and then nothing for a month or two. But once he got stronger there was no stopping him. As for the 10 kicks a day I had no idea, as was too busy to notice. The only one I did wait for was the usual 11pm start to the acrobatics and if he was late waking up he'd get lots of pokes and shakes. Bless him...

Sorry - 28 wks and 4 days (now 29 weeks). Just got into the habit of writing it that way from being on various Mum forums!!

Miss JenniPenni - I was worried at 20 wks too because of my flab, but it's the clearest scan I've had really. Although it obviously doesn't help any for my last scan (28 wks) it was baby's position which caused problems rather than my fat!
I'm so sexy it's a wonder my underpants don't explode.
  • Can you believe it! After all my worrying i am now up at 3.42am in the morning as i can't sleep as the baby is doing somersaults lol

I know I know some people are never happy :rotfl:

Since I worry constantly about our drop in income i thought id pop on and look at all the moneysaving tips again lol

What it is about pregnancy that makes information retention almost impossible lol

Still we have the 4d scan tonight - i'd better have a nap later or i'll be falling asleep half way through.

I have been waking at 03:00 most mornings. Our baby is due at the end of February...and I don't wake up because he/she is doing a few laps but I just do...very odd. I am due back at work tomorrow and I hope I will be able to get some sleep today. For me come lunchtime I feel really ill because I'm so tired. Haven't read every reply but Good Luck with the pregnancy.

Hi just wanted to say glad you and baby are ok now. This happened to me at 25wks, he hardly moved all week, so we went to the hospital, he was fine and hasn't stopped moving since!

However, i would say to anyone who is worried ring up the midwives at the hospital and getchecked, they don't mind. The reason i say this is my 1st baby stopped moving at 27 wks, went to the drs and he sent me away. I went to the hospital 2 days later and my son nearly died inside me. Not trying to scare anyone but its always worthgetting checked over andthey would rather you did than sit at home worrying.x
