Signed for are automatically deemed as delivered once post person delivers them and marks it as such on their devices, it will show as delivered ,probably even show the posties scribbled sig, so it doesn’t matter whether DWP want to sign for it or not.
But if it's not on the system,as far as DWP it's not been received & they can not progress the claim. Even if you have proof it was.
When we sent our claim in DWP advised not to use recorded (waste of money & this is MSE after all 👍), just get proof of posting. As if it's not on the system you are going to have to send it again anyway.

According to Citizens Advice - when mail arrives at DWP, "It is likely that it has arrived and has not been scanned yet - sometimes it can take 2-3 weeks to get past this stage - so wait a couple more weeks !"
This does sound likely - however I wonder what will happen wrt "reminder txts" from DWP

All you can do is ring them advise it was sent back with proof of postage. And a 2nd one has either been sent back or will be soon.

That likely means the original form has now been received by DWP?
