The new single appeals service will hopefully reduce the number of claims reaching court. I just hope that the new appeals service employ adjudicators that have some discretion unlike the current incumbents.
This is now the next stage in the process, and the DLUHC are running a series of meetings with key stakeholders to establish how the new SAS will work, and who should run it.
We have made it clear that nobody connected with the current ATAs and appeals services should have any involvement whatsoever, and that it must be a new service completely independent of the parking industry, with legally qualified adjudicators who have experience of parking issues. That narrows it down to a very short list of candidates.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.10 -

Good news at last. It was inevitable eventually. PPC's dont help themselves with their flimsy arguments and more importantly, just completely choosing to ignore the actual issues that they are being held to account for.
Still, nothing will change until the new CoP is shown to have teeth, that's the next priority....{Signature removed by Forum Team - if you are not sure why we have removed your signature, it's probably Gladstones}5 -
DRP may move into energy bills which are forecasted to rocket. Energy companies tend to use regulated firms though.
The likes of SRS will probably go more upmarket where there are people actually parking your car. I think that Excel/VCS are aready into this.

DRP will no doubt go wherever their Vulture Venture Capital owners direct them - morals don't tend to be high on their list of endearing qualities.

The allowance of up to £70 as a 'debt recovery charge' has now been binned, it is dead, it is defunct, it is pushing up the daisies. A number of posters on here raised this point with their MPs, with varying degrees of success, but it seems that enough pressure was brought to bear on the DLUHC policy advisors during the summer 2021 further consultation, for them to realise they were flogging a dead horse.
The article in the #daily Mail says this ... "However, motorists still have to wait until the end of next year for the new measures to be implemented."? This is not so good - Why wait!
