Just tried to set up an online payment to Gatehouse using exactly the details they supplied with my reference etc
but flagged up as non matching/possible scam  (also says it's to the business account not a  personal account, which is the opposite of other accounts I've transferred to, in my name )
I know they use Barclays as payment cover bank, but changing it to Barclays doesn't help.
I can force it through, but a token £1 may get rejected and min £1000 is a lot to chance it,
anyone else had the same problem?
I’ve set mine up with Starling no problem whatsoever…

You need to select business NOT personal account…
    • Our account name: Gatehouse Bank plc
    • * Please note that our above account is held with Barclays Bank plc
You then just put in their sort code & account number…your bank should then verify it as fine…

I’ve gotta send £30K tomorrow into their 3 year fix as need to send it all in one go apparently!

I’d obviously prefer to send the 1K first but is states no further additions allowed.
Where does it say that? I'm due to transfer up to 50K from my Atom next week , I'm not doing that in one go online
You surely should be able to make several deposits within the 30 days.
The initial deposit has to be £1000 to open the account officially.
Have you misread the illustrative amount, eg for the 2 year :

Estimated balance at the end of the term based on a £1,000 deposit

    £1,117.25

Please note: This projection is provided for illustrative purposes only and does not take into account customer's individual circumstances. This projection is based on:

    - an initial £1,000 deposit
    - no further deposits or withdrawals are made
    - profit is paid annually to the account

Can I make more than one deposit?

Fixed Term Deposits (including Fixed Term Cash ISAs)

For fixed term deposits, if you make your initial deposit by bank transfer, you can send it in instalments as long as we receive the full deposit within 30 days of your application.

If your initial deposit is by cheque, we can’t accept instalments, and it must be the full amount. We cannot accept a combination of cheque and bank transfer.

Once we have received the initial deposit (either as a single payment or in instalments) you can’t make any more deposits for the term of the account.

  • Is the JN site failing for anyone else tonight?  Why do they wait till the and of the form to tell you 'something has gone wrong'
  • Had that happen on Tuesday, went back on Wednesday to continue with the application as it had saved where I was (I was logged in), and it proceeded correctly. So I'd look back in later or tomorrow.

as feared they have just reduced their 3 year rates from 5.9% to 5.5% and the others have been lowered as well.

Interesting that Metro Bank are quite ahead of the rest currently in the lead for 1 year fixed. Personally not going to touch them and it’s clear they are trying to build liquidity.

I got my Gatehouse payee to be recognised last night - trying a token £1 first to see if it goes through but it may get rejected if not the minimum  . Not showing up yet.

Were you able to continue with your application though? And if so, had your application's rate reduced to 5.5%?

No since I've never got as far as a password, to identify my original application. Presumably, the cookies on your computer somehow did that work? After reading your post I Emailed them this morning describing my difficulty and asking if they would honour my original application attempt. I'm not holding my breath though!

Ah. I had logged in as I opened a 5.97% account in October, and applied for an additional account, at which point I also got the error message. I was able to continue from that point the following day. I've just sent the initial deposit and it is listed as 5.9% so I got in in time.

How are you finding JN Bank? I opened a fixed rate with them before their rate dropped but have not funded it yet. I was not too keen on the look and feel when logged in, seeing loans which I am not interested in as well as savings. If it does the job I can live with it. Just trying to get a bit of confidence to make a deposit to a fixed rate account with a bank I have not used before.
