From the BBC Buisness section and elsewhere
"It (IMF) warned Bank of England rates would peak at 6% and stay around 5% until 2028. Rates are currently 5.25%."
So maybe savings rates have not peaked. Have the IMF predictions been accurate in the past.0 -

In April, the IMF predicted the UK would fall into a recession this year. That turned out to be wrong. They also claim in this latest forecast that they expect “the Bank of England to raise [interest rates] to peak at about 6%“, despite the BofE holding rates at 5.25% at the end of last month, and the markets now believing the peak has already been reached. According to Sky News, the IMF’s data today is based on figures from August. They admit the latest outlook doesn’t even account for the upward revisions to the UK economy after the pandemic.3 -
I seem to recall there were some clear markers / trends that banks followed in deciding savings rate adjustments, can't remember what these were but there was at least one forum member who helpfully analysed these markers and shared a simplified outlook.0

If you have an account with Ford you can log in and still get the higher rates on all fixed accounts.FindingBBob said:Ford Money Website now showing 5.95% for both 1 & 2 Year- rates are on the slide.I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
