Quite a mixed bunch of comments about these Vanquis bonds.

Just to be clear, as a new user, can you simply open it electronically, and then fund it immediately like with most accounts?
Is the sending details in / getting login details in the post just for some users?

I’m new to Vanquis and applied for their 2yr bond this morning. Was accepted but I have to wait to receive login details via post. You have 30 days from application to start funding the account then 5 working days from your 1st payment to fully fund it.

Exactly the same for me this morning, applied for a one year bond for my husband, and a two year bond for myself. Both have to wait for login details via post

Thanks both, that sounds quite a hassle doesn't it.
Wonder why they have to do it that way, yet seemingly every other bank immediately emails you.

I applied for Vanquis and they weren't able to recognise my bank account (over 30 years old) with my address (been here over 10 years).     They want me to send in copies of certified bank statements to them - I don't get paper copies of my bank statements and they'll no doubt reject them if I print them off from the PDFs I've got.       I decided to take less and went to Tandem - literally minutes later money transferred across with open banking and all done.

I wonder if Vanquis will ask me why I haven't put any money in it?

No hassle and well worth it to me. I’ve now locked in a 6.2% interest savings account which I’ll only fund if rates look like falling after the BOE monetary policy meeting on August 3rd. You need to snap these high rate accounts up before they get pulled.
