These fixes rate accounts/bonds all reduce to some pitiful rate at the end of the term so you have to move again.
Even tescos bank rate reduces after 1 year.
Does anyone know of an account that pays a good rate that doesn't reduce after time? what worries me is at some point ill be too old and less able to move accounts

I'm not sure there are many (if any) accounts that pay a good rate of interest consistently forever. If there were this forum would be all over them! Maybe look at longterm fixes of 5-7 years to minimise switching.'Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it; he who doesn’t, pays it' - Albert Einstein.1
