Atom don't seem to be chasing the pack either.
after grabbing better rates for most of my savings later last year
I used the rest for their annual 4.27 , currently they are 4.55
which is roughly where a lot of providers were before the latest inflation expectation/rates wobble.

All lenders have their own reasons for the rates they set. If an institution doesn’t need much in the way of funds at a certain point in time they won’t be too fussed how high up the rankings they are.

Expected to have seen Smart Save nip in and inch the 1 and 2 year fixed top rates up by 0.01% by now!
    4.82% one year
    There we go!
Will wait until mid next week to check things don't squeeze up a little more and probably get on this.

A word of caution, last November I and most pundits were expecting interest saving’s rates to go even higher, well as we all know the banks torpedo our excitement..

This time I’m  not going to miss the boat, I think our German friends have a word for this  “Zweite glückliche Zeit“

    OakNorth say the following.

"Fixed Term Deposit Accounts funded by online bank transfer will be credited to your Account,
and interest will begin accruing no later than one business day from when we receive your
    funds."

If I paid in money today would it not earn any interest until Tuesday 2nd May?

I paid in £1 to open the account on Wednesday and that was showing in OakNorth within seconds.
Some banks are short changing unsuspecting consumers.

23rd I received text from United Trust Bank stating it had received deposit to my account which was ISA transfer funds that had been sent that day.

United Trust Bank subsequently started fixed term ISA on 25th, I had to contact UBL UK 5 years earlier about my understanding that there should be no loss of interest when transferring ISA

with Vanquis, if you get monthly interest, can you have it paid to an external account or is it added to the Vanquis account ? the website and pdf's give no indication one way or the other...

When you apply it gives you the option... That's what I selected... Monthly to nominated account.

Although, I've got to post a bank statement to validate my nominated account which is a pain, as I've had the same one for over 5 years!

do you know if that's common practice with Vanquis ?
