Just seen (by email from Waitrose) that the myWaitrose free newspaper offer (with £10 spend) is finally ending on 22nd Feb, which also means no more free Nectar points from back page of the Daily Mail.....
I hope they remember to order in a lot less papers!
Apparently some new weekly personalised offers coming soon instead, we shall see....0 -
I’ve seen a few angry comments from customers on Twitter. I know a few people who only go there on weekends for the paper/TV pages - not anymore.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

In the grand scheme of the state of the world its very much a middle class problem, isnt it?
People should get a grip. People have to make a choice whether to eat or heat given todays announcement by OFGEM.5 -

I've been a Waitrose customer since 2012 and haven't once had a free newspaper or coffee. I do get Waitrose Food magazine though. I get sent vouchers through the post periodically but don't use those either, they never seem to have money off things I actually buy.

Why do people need newspapers still? They are depressing, full of adverts and expensive. £1 for the local rag2

Well I line the bottom of the parrot's cage with my newspapers so it was a useful offer for me. It was a childish pleasure of mine to try and line up the image of some headline grabbing waste of space underneath his usual drop zone.
However I'll survive without the free newspaper but I don't hold out much hope that the "personalised" offers will be any good. They promised the same after doing away with the pick your own offer and that was a waste of time. The My Waitrose offers they run at the moment are almost entirely for niche items. If they change that and make it more like the Tesco clubcard offers where they often use popular lines to reduce it will be OK.5 -
Surprised the free newspaper offer on £10 spend has lasted so long! Must admit I was one of those that sometimes spent my £10 there on Sunday to pick up the Observer.
Agree with MysteryMe that offers I have had are for pretty obscure items that I wouldn't buy and also for % off £60 spend when my normal spend is £20-30 ish if that.
Don't understand why MrsStepford never took advantage of any of the special offers ........1
