I made OH’s cake last week with no extra cost other than store cupboard ingredients. Unfortunately the planned outing we had for his birthday was cancelled courtesy of Eunice, but the hotel were good enough to refund the money despite it being past the date for free cancellations, so I had that back in my account before the weekend was out.We met some friends and had a low key local outing instead spending only about £25 all night but had a sore head the next day… all day. I don’t drink often and I won’t be again for sometime after that!
I’ve received all of the refunds for the clothes and boots I returned over the past week, the child benefit has also gone into the account today and the child tax credits will hit on Wednesday. We were supposed to be at my parents house by now today, but unfortunately we’ve had to cancel that trip as well because of the bad weather. 😔 We’re both really disappointed, as are my family, but I waited and waited to see if the weather was going to improve and it just didn’t. It’s supposed to be bad there on Thursday too when we would have had to return. DS has had a pretty boring day today as I have to work (from home) and will be all week, but I’ve now arranged for his friend to come over one day so that they can at least play and have company. I’ve booked to take them to the cinema after I finish work, using a gift card I had for Christmas so it’s only cost me £4.50 for the three of us.The bar stools were collected last week for £40 and I also sold some DIY materials for £75 the same day, so have around £100 to put in the bank when I can get there. I used £20ish to pay for some shopping today as I hasn’t bought anything much in thinking we would be away this week. Our donations for the food bank were also collected today so I hope that goes towards helping a little bit.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

I’ve just updated everything on YNAB and have managed to free up another £60 to send as an overpayment, rounding the mortgage down to £78,800 exactly. I’m £16.93 away from overpaying my first £1000 this year, so the next mini challenge is to find/make that before the next mortgage payment comes out on the 1st to make the 1K OP mark. 😀Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

DS has had a rough day with his medical issues, it is so hard seeing him in pain yet he never complains or moans. He was supposed to have a friend round today but we had to cancel an hour into him being here and take him home as DS was so unwell. I gave the cinema tickets to a friend and her sons to enjoy, no point in wasting them. So DS and I have had another day in the house but we bought two movies on Amazon to snuggle on the sofa and watch, both comedies, so gave us a giggle too. I paid for them with part of a £30 gift voucher I’d received when buying my phone last month and spent the rest tonight on something DS needs for school.DS’s op has been rescheduled for around 10 days time so I am really hoping this is going to help him and make him better. He’s been quite unwell lately.
The child tax credits hit the account today so I’ve allocated that to some bills on YNAB. I’ve also just requested another £35 CB payout from TCB so I think I’ll use part of that for another mortgage OP.No council tax to pay this month or next, so that will be a total of £238 to go to savings or OPs or perhaps split between the two.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

I’ve just sent £20 of the £35 cashback to the mortgage as another overpayment, so have now paid off an extra £1003.07 so far this year. I have three sub accounts on my mortgage and am continuously op ing the one with the highest interest rate at the moment, but I’m not sure if my 10%OP allowance per year is 10% of the total mortgage or whether I have to stick to 10% of any sub account, so hence why I am keeping track of how much I’ve paid off so far this year.
