Didn’t realise you had a MF diary...well done on the mortgage overpayments. You are an inspiration. The garden sounds like it’s coming on with all stone now in place. Have you taken photos so you can see a before and after?
Glad you have been able to have a few days with your family.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Wow you have been through it! It is awful to be priced out of an area, especially when your family live there. You sound super busy and I love how you are finding money for the OPs!3

Thank you HSL2 and Aimingforthegoodlife.Yes, I’ve jumped ship to the MFW board now HSL2, am hoping it will keep me focused on paying this mortgage down now, even though it will be little by little.I have taken some before and afters but we’re still on the ‘before’ of the back garden unfortunately. The front is more like a courtyard, but is done now, other than some new plants as spring approaches, but the back is yet to be started. I’m hoping it will be soon!
It is awful to be priced out of the area I grew up in Aimingforthegoodlife and I just don’t know how ‘normal’ people afford to buy there as wages aren’t particular high in the area either. DS and I had a lovely chat about moving there yesterday and he is much more open to it than I thought. I had to explain to him that unfortunately my bank balance is not as open to the idea though. It makes me really sad as my parents are very poorly and it is likely we don’t have much time left with one or both of them. DS idolises them and vice versa so I feel like we are missing precious days.
I’ve already had notification that the refunds have been processed for the two parcels I returned this afternoon. I’m already looking forward to sending another little op to the mortgage from that. 😀 Yes, I probably need to get out more…Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

Are there any areas near your parents that might be a little cheaper? I live in an area that has a high proportion of second homes and holiday homes, but if you go more inland than closer to the sea, there are some better priced homes.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . I paid DS’s birthday money into the bank today and whilst I was there I realised I had £25 in my purse I’d forgotten about. I’ve paid that into my account and have sent it straight to the mortgage, so just £45 to find this month now to reach my self-imposed target.
I returned two items of clothing to a shop today too that arrived last week after purchasing online. I’ve decided not to replace them and make do with what I have, so I’ll pay that off the mortgage too when it hits the account.I don’t have a lot to do today so am just going to potter round the house and tidy up a bit. I will be hoovering round the house again as both last night and this morning I’ve been greeted by massive spiders in the lounge and kitchen. I hate spiders and last night’s was extremely difficult for me to talk myself into dealing with. It was HUGE and a bit too lively for my liking and I was shaking as I did the glass and cardboard trick and moved it outside. This house seems to harbour them, any more and it’ll be enough to make me move again!Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

The £40 refund from Amazon has hit the bank account so I’ve rounded it up to £45 and paid it off the mortgage - that’s another £100 gone and my mini target for the month reached already.
