Thank you Mrs_Money_Penny xI've given up on eBay now since discovering Vinted, I love that there's no fees to pay when selling. They seems to be expanding their categories now so you can sell toys, homewares etc.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

Well I am suffering from shock - in a good way. After taking 4 bin liners and 4 cardboard boxes of "stuff" to a local charity shop & probably about 7 bin liners at least to the tip, I moved on to another bit of the house. After reading about people selling on ebay etc, just for a laugh I thought I would google some of my stuff. Bearing in mind this is after giving my friends son & DiL a whole 23 boxes of a dinner service. I have 4 of something that an ebay seller wants almost £20 for + about £30 for carriage for one from the US & they are moving. 50 items later .... It is no wonder it cost me a small fortune to move here 30 years ago. So the new year is going to involve a whole new learning curve for me, hopefully my DS has something that can do decent photos. So if anyone has any advice please do share. I only looked at one item I took to the charity shop & decided it was not a good idea to look at more. I just hope that they price them sensibly.

The price something is listed for and it's usual sale price are not always the same thing. Well done on decluttering.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I wouldn't try selling at anything like they are selling for but the service I gave away by the manufacturers was worth over £2k over 30 years ago & is even more now & the stuff I have is the same make. I assumed the price would have really dropped but if anything it is in more demand because it is no longer made. At least I need to try. So here we go a mid 70s massive learning curve as I've never done anything like it before. I suspect packaging could be the biggest problem. I am still suffering from OMG can I really do this. Mostly though I would just like it to go to someone who appreciated it, not someone who said that will do, if you understand me. Which is why I gave away the dinner service because I could hear her squeal of delight when they rang after my friend sent the photo.

Perhaps an auction house would be a better idea for the valuable dinner service badmemory? Or perhaps advertise locally on marketplace first, I'd be wary of wrapping and sending something like china. I know a lot of couriers won't insure it either.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

Another item sold on Vinted over the weekend for £5 so I posted that yesterday. A FB sale was also collected yesterday for £4.
I had a letter over the weekend telling me I may be eligible for the £150 warm home discount so I called the helpline this morning to find out £150 will be credited to my energy account before the end of March. I'm so chuffed! It will really help as my cheap fix ends in June and I'm dreading the massive price jump monthly.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

I'm so glad I'm getting paid tomorrow as the accounts are looking very empty. I've had to transfer funds from a couple of the savings pots this past week to cover groceries, diesel and day to day expenses so I'm desperate to build those pots back up again. I've also ordered myself a few pairs of boots/shoes in a sale as I'm literally down to my last pair now and they leak terribly. I've put that on the credit card but will pay it off tomorrow using some of the overtime money I should receive.
I've checked my payslip and I've earnt £380 extra this month but obviously now don't receive tax credits. £124 of that will need to go to clear the credit card, the rest will go in an account to cover spending money and transfers for when DS and I go on our little trip away in Feb. From February's salary onwards, I should be able to throw extra money into the savings pots every month and build those up again but for now it will be the usual monthly amounts. The two council tax free months will also be very welcome.
I finally finished the Christmas gift shopping yesterday, such a relief. 99% is wrapped too and I've even written the few cards I distribute. I won't really be buying any extra food in as DS is at his Dad's Christmas Day and OH and I have enough in our fridges/freezers for us. I did pick up a YS crackling joint and some chicken en croutes in Asda yesterday so we will have one of those with veg we already have in on Christmas Day.
I finally had some results from blood tests I had a little while ago and it seems I'm quite severely deficient in Vitamin B12 and will need 3 x injections a week in the new year. It does go some way to explain how I've been feeling lately so am hoping it helps. The Doctor has also ordered further blood tests for an autoimmune disease due to my family history. Apparently the B12 deficiency can be caused by an auto immune disease.
I doubt I'll get on before Christmas now, so I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and that the New Year brings you good healtth and happiness xxMortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16
