I think if you think you would benefit from the Samaritans call them. It is important to take away the stigma - so I will say - I have. I now pay for a couple of counselling sessions a month and have done for over a year as continued mental health and an outlet for the bad times are a budget priority for me. Ask for help. Don't wait. You are worth it. You.

Me too.  It was a lot of years ago but I needed someone to just tell.  No-one IRL knows apart from the person on the other end of the phone.

Thank you everyone for your kindness, I do really appreciate every one of you commenting. Xx
I’m doing ok, much better than Sunday/Monday now the shock of the situation has settled a bit.
I’m trying to just concentrate on other things atm to keep busy and not think about things too much.

The £66 energy rebate hit the account this week as did £52.50 from vinted so I’ve paid another chunk off the credit card and sent £50 to the mortgage to make me feel like I’ve achieved something. Pay day is 10 days away and there will be a bit extra in it this month from some extra hours I worked last month, but not nearly as much as next month as I am working as many extra hours as I am permitted to this month. Oh, I nearly forgot about the back pay I’ll be getting this month too, but obviously that’s disappearing straight away to pay the credit card off.

DS has a barking cough at night atm so neither of us got much sleep last night and I’m absolutely shattered today. I’m hoping to have an easy evening and an early night tonight but I can foresee ructions with DS as he’s supposed to be up in his bedroom doing his homework that’s due tomorrow but I can hear him doing everything but homework up there atm.  :|

A difficult start to the day today and it's not even 8.30am. :( I need to try and change my mindset this morning and find a bit of positivity from somewhere. I noticed a few neighbours going off out to work this morning (those that aren't retired, it seems to be an older area here) and felt a pang of longing for the old days back - where I got out of the house and saw more than the 4 walls of this little box room in a day. The loneliness and isolation is suffocating. I guess my petrol bill is cheaper and I don't have to pay for parking though. :/ I'll see if I can sneak out for 20 minutes for a walk round the park later, I haven't been out of the house this week other than to take DS and his friends to school twice. Does reading the (outside) gas meter count too?!

I've put a load of washing on this morning, it's not raining at the moment so hopefully that can go on the line. I was planning on  changing the beds and getting the bedlinen washed too.
I've taken a couple of previously batch-cooked meals out of the freezer for DS and I for tea this evening, am thankful I don't have to cook much tonight. I've sent a text to remind the ex for around the 15th time that DS should be having a combination of two vitamins every morning because his meds have adverse effects in other ways and I've discovered he's not been giving them to him again. It's not difficult. Like everything else, including clothes etc, I used to buy them and give them to the ex for DS so I knew DS would actually have them at his Dad's, but stopped some time ago as their household income is probably 4 or 5 times that of mine and these things cost around £10 a month. Why should I have to buy it all? Funny enough, since I stopped supplying them, DS doesn't have them regularly and now comes home in clothes that are dirty or obviously belonged to someone else of a completely different size before DS - ie. her kids. I give up. He has everyone believing he's dad of the year though, including DS most of the time. I wouldn't be without DS for the World but I really wish I'd never met his waste of space father.

The washing machine's stopped so I'm off to peg that out now and pray for the rain to hold off for today. Have a good day everyone xx

I must have been a bit delusional this morning, thinking it wouldn't rain...  :# It of course poured down and the washing was wetter than when I put it out so the tumble dryer is now on. It's going to be an expensive day electricity-wise as I have two loads to dry. :(
I completely forgot that a lady was coming to pick up a £10 fb sale this morning, so I'm £10 up and a little space made in the utility room. Another item has sold on vinted too for £8, so there's £18 to be paid into the account from there when both parcels have been posted & received.
I've just applied to transfer DS's junior ISA to one with a much better interest rate than his was receiving. That boy is much richer than me! I just hope he uses it wisely when he's older.

I've posted the two vinted parcels so the funds should clear soon, hopefully.

The £200 arrived from Sky today (which i'd actually forgotten about) so I've just transferred it to the credit card. That should be paid off by the end of this month.

More stress today but I'm really hoping that the situation will improve a bit now. It's been a really horrible week. 😞

    Thank you savingholmes xx

OH sent me £35 he owed me so I've sent that to the credit card too this morning. The balance is now in the £500's so I should have a fair amount left over from my backpay after paying the card off. This will hopefully cover the extras I need to book before DS and I go on our short break in Feb.
I've also had the renewal for my car insurance which is cheaper than any other quote I can find and is under £200, so will renew with the same company.
I have a meeting this morning related to the potential redundancies at work, I'm not looking forward to it. :(

The meeting actually went ok, none of us will hear about possible redundancies for a few months though. :(

I've updated the budget on YNAB and had £20 left over that I could afford to send to the mortgage so another little OP of £20 made today. New balance £74,630. I still have nearly £80 in my grocery budget with a week until payday, so I am hoping to be able to spare another £30 from there to get the mortgage down to £74,600. I'll have to wait a few days to see if it's affordable though.
