Hello! It's been a while. We are on our holiday and our son is skiing.

As I.expected, our holiday is coming in more expensive than I thought, however, we are having a truly lovely time, so I'm not regretting a penny. Last day at cp France tomorrow, then heading to calais via rouen on Friday, sail Saturday morning.

You may note 2 things. 1, the ski fund has been renamed. It's our summer plan. Nothing booked, but, we will go and I'm going all out to make extra funds again.  Some ebay sales and some.cashback should be coming in soon, plus potentially sold 2 lots of furniture.

2. The cc has gone up slightly. This is just interest, not spending, so I'm still working hard at reducing it.

Money finally cleared from some ebay sales today so they went straight to the Italy find, along with some chase cashback.  More ebay sales today, so expecting a nice chunk to land in a day or two.

Paid £9.55 off the cc. Waiting for some pay to land, then will pay a bigger amount off, would ideally like it to get to £2500 by the end of April


Last day at cp France today, heading to calais via rouen tomorrow. Can't believe we have been in France for 5 days already.

We are all home softer a very lovely week away.

Made some good ebay sales whilst away, so will be spending today packing ready to post tomorrow.  General House tidying and ordering some shopping too.

Started reading a couple.of other dfd yesterday, was inspiring and made me realise that I had been participating in pad without knowing it. I only have 1 debt, other than the mortgage, so as I pay something off our cc most days I'd consider that a pad. Once the cc is paid I will be building more savings than just the holiday fund. 

I know, before people say it, I should be using the holiday fund towards the debt, but I also know my spending habits. I would just put the whole holiday on the cc and spend another year paying it off. This way I'm hoping to avoid adding to the cc. There's always a method, often a madness.

Hope everyone is doing well, before I start the day properly I'm researching Italy... any hints and tips for northern italy in the summer are welcome.

A holiday fund is a good idea. I saved for an emergency/boiler replacement fund while paying off my debts. It makes sense if you can save as well because you can see a result for not wasting money and it gets you into good habits for the future.

@CRANKY40 thanks.  I will be creating an emergency fund once the cc is paid too. Makes sense. And you're right, it's creating better habits, like having the money to pay for something before buying it.

Funnily, I wouldn't describe us as big spenders, we've always had a mortgage that 1 person can pay, we buy cheap cars outright, don't spend much on clothes etc. However, we do like a holiday/weekend away and to eat out and that's where we need to really retrain our spending habits.

Been a wonky start to the week, which was to be expected after a week off. Happens when you're both self employed.

So, not managed to make any pads so far, meaning cc remains the same, but a little more has gone into the holiday fund.

We did get a 'too good to go'from morrisons last night, lots of fruit and bread, which was good. Husband and daughter got the restbof the shop for £48. I've a feeling i will need to add to it, but hopeful it will last until the weekend. Problem is I used up a lot of food before we went away.  Also, annoyingly, they has a voucher I had purchased via top cash back, but it didn't work on the self checkout.  I had bought it with the intention of doing an online shop, but it doesn't work there either.

You live and learn, I guess.

In positive news, I sold a table and chairs for £150 profit, and some.drawers that have been hanging around. Only a few quid made on those, but at least the money came in. Food job as my electric bill has shot up. As has my phone bill, two of our phones needed roaming adding for the week, so urgh to that.

Felt quite wobbly financially for a few days, but sure it's going to settle soon.

Just £10 off the cc this week, it's been bills week, and with everything through the roof I'm waiting to see if I can pay off a bit more.

A little ebay sale and some chase cashback went into the Italy fund.

I've got someone coming to look at a wardrobe I have for sale at noon. Hoping it will go for a few reasons. 1. It's filling up my storage, 2. I have another that I need to carry working on but can't access due to this 1, 3. I paid £35 plus £30 delivery for 2 full sized wardrobes, 1 child sized 1 and a bedframe. This 1 wardrobe is for sale for £100, so if it sells I'm already £35 in profit.  I don't like having money and space tied up, as it restricts my next purchases.

Hoping my husband finds more stuff for me to.list on ebay, I really don't enjoy ebay, but I do like making money from the stuff he has lying around.

OK, the good weather is calling.

The wardrobe sold, but for £80 as they didn't want the bedframe that came with it. That's OK, because I'm already in profit and i have 2 more wardrobes and a bedframe to go. Plus some space to work on said wardrobes. Money has gone to the "daily" pot, as ine every day use.

Managed to pay a little more off the cc determined to find that £91 this week to get below £2500. That would mean £1300 paid off since February, plus interest, so pleased with that. 

Another ebay sale added to the Italy fund. Hopefully I will get more stuff listed this week, I think there's a considerable amount of vinyl coming my way.

Anyway, daughters 1st shift at a local pub coming up, so I best get sorted to drop her off.

£10 cashback from nationwide for using their card for supermarket shops. Paid £11 off my cc, waiting for some pay for work I did last month, hoping that will take the cc down below £2500.

Given my wardrobes lots of oil today, they should be foe sale by the end of the month.   

Met friends for drinks last night, so feeling a bit tender today...

At least that's me out of holiday mode though.

Managed to finish my wardrobes, so they're up for sale.
Also finished editing 2 more podcasts, so that's good.

I'm planning our trip to Italy and feeling a little overwhelmed as we've never been before and I like to plan!
