Yeah i agree the sellers may well have been a bit slow but i am in contact with the sellers daughter and apparently it was all done.GoogleMeNow said:The big conveyancing factory could be waiting for their 80 year old clients to submit their completed and signed documents, put monies on account and provide their ID documents. Big conveyancing factories don't send out draft contract packs until all the preliminary pre-legal stuff has been done.
The EA should be checking that the sellers have actually done this. Bear in mind that EA is being paid by the seller, so their contract is not with you.
Yes and thats what bothers me. I wish we had a say in which EA is used.0 -
Connells sold my house and were excellent and Premier Property lawyers handled both sale and purchase and were excellent. Its ok you can name names here its like a review on any other website. Yes they suggested i could use XYZ and i said no, conversation finished.
Nothing you highlight was illegal and is just business practices, do you get this wound up when ever a shop tries to upsell something to you or your internet cookies promotes something based on your browser history.
10 weeks an not much happening sounds like your vendors are slow.

That's fantasy talk, how can you have a say in which EA your seller uses!Yes and thats what bothers me. I wish we had a say in which EA is used.1 -
I always get wound up when lazy, greedy corporate entities try and make as much money as they can from normal people's significant life events.TheJP said:Connells sold my house and were excellent and Premier Property lawyers handled both sale and purchase and were excellent. I do not have an axe to grind with EA's in general. We have used some very good ones over the years.1 -
Being "all done" doesn't mean it's been done correctly.BigH1979 said:

I read this thread with some interest as I'd never heard of this particular EA, we've only moved 3 times but they don't appear to have any branches in our county at all.
Do they not venture north of the southern midlands or are we just an anomaly?Kate short for Bob.

There are none in Cheshire, Shropshire or Derbyshire, but there are some in Staffordshire.KateBob said:I read this thread with some interest as I'd never heard of this particular EA, we've only moved 3 times but they don't appear to have any branches in our county at all.

Yeah i absolutely get that. But that doesn't account for the EA telling me 3 weeks ago that everything was all sorted and the Conveyancer was sending over the Draft Contract. Scroll forward to now and its still not here and the EA is telling the Seller (not us) that its awaiting the return of the Land Registry search. Every time ive talked to the EA they are incapable of telling the truth.TBG01 said:

During his time we received another call asking us to raise our offer but this time the person on the other end of the phone was the Mortgage Advisor. So this guy knew what our upper borrowing limit was and was acting as an EA trying to get us to offer more!!
Well would you believe that apparently the EA had talked this nice old couple in their 80's into using their 'trusted partners' which turns out to be a large conveyancing factory up in Leicester (we are in Exeter). Furthermore the EA had told this couple that they should use them because we were also using them and it would make for a quicker sale.
