    Ah OK.

You say you've already complained to the BPA about the lack of POPLA code?  Follow that up.

Yes i did this via the online form they have. I didn’t receive any confirmation of my complaint though. would you recommend just emailing them?

Yes, email Sara Roberts, Head of AOS and complain about the lack of POPLA code from the PPC and the lack of reply from your online complaint to the BPA (both!).

Don't confuse matters by talking about the PCN you have not appealed yet.

Only talk about the postal NTK and show her their reply asking who was driving and the DRPlus letter.  Tell her you will not be naming the driver but are entitled to a POPLA code and expected better of an AOS member so soon before the new Code of Practice finally regulates the private parking industry this year.

You can give her a link to this thread if you like and say MSE posters sent you.

Sara knows who, and that I don't give her email address out lightly but when the BPA can't even be bothered to respond to your complaint, it's time to take it direct to the Head of AOS.

    Thank you -

i just tried to send the email but i have been sent an automated email saying it is undeliverable as sara.roberts@britishparking.co.uk isn’t listed in the domain’s directory. Is there another email you might have?

if I’ve appealed that one then why have i received the DRP notice and no POPLA code?
No idea.  Unless you missed a rejection email and POPLA code in your spam folder?
The only email I received from them was just asking me to give them the driver details for the NTK letter PCN. No popla code in there. This beginning of this email goes like (with the rest of it being how to pay):

    “[REFERENCE NUM]

Thank you for your email regarding the above Parking Charge Notice (PCN).

What you need to do now

So I can contact the driver for payment of the amount due, please let me know their name and address. Please let me have these details by 07/02/2022.”

They have not rejected that appeal.
That letter also said that they have put the matter on hold while you send them the driver's details.
Of course you won't be sending them the driver's details, so when that times out they will reject the appeal and issue a PoPLA code.

Expect an appeal rejection letter together with a PoPLA code sometime after 7th February.

Ahhh that makes sense. Bit odd though - I figured they’d reject it without driver details as I used the template and appealed as keeper. Thanks for your reply

Thanks @Coupon-mad. Sara has now replied to me:

    Good Morning [NAME]

    [BPA REF]
    Vehicle Registration: [REG]
Parking Charge Notice : [PCN NUMBER]

Thank you for your email.  I am also able to confirm that your online complaint submision to the BPA was received on 27 January 2022 and we have raised a case reference [BPA REF].

I am sorry to hear you have experienced problems with our members – JD Parking Consultants Ltd and Parking Collection Services (PCS).

Our role as an Accredited Trade Association is to investigate alleged breaches of our Code of Practice by members of our Approved Operator Scheme where evidence can be supplied. We are unable to become involved in individual ticket disputes, hear appeals or compel a member to cancel a parking charge notice..

I will now approach Parking Collection Services Limited to ask them to comment and investigate your complaint.

Once I hear back from them, I will update you accordingly. I hope this is helpful.

    Sara Roberts
    Head of Approved Operator Scheme
    British Parking Association
