Tallents House isnt that big a building.molerat said:Likely 2 different departments. The label form, which I would assume is the standard picking form for RM stamps, only has the swap out items listed. Just another badly thought out and poorly implemented RM system - would anyone have expected anything different ?
I would be surprised if theres that big a team working on it.

Then 2 different people / rooms / desks, receipt / logging and picking / dispatch. There is nothing on the packing slip to suggest that the recompense stamps should be picked although the included letter states that additional barcoded stamps to the value of £6.85 are enclosed. It looks like they have failed to set up the system to cover it.custardy said:

They have also launched a few new initiatives alongside slashing/disenfranchising their entire managerial staff.
As you can imagine. many are treading water whilst waiting to find out if they actually have a job and what job that is.

As always with RM, the post men and women are fantastic. But the managers are appalling. Why does RM seem so totally incapable of finding managers who can manage?custardy said:

They are in the process of decimating the ops managers (smoke should clear in the next few days)Doc_N said:

layers of management removed and reduction in managers at Delivery office level with a change to roles and reduction in pay/terms
Be interesting seeing how it pans out0 -
It doesn't help any of you... but I'm seeing on a philatelic forum which I frequent that plenty of people are not getting their SD costs refunded properly and having to chase. A few are reporting wrong calculations where they sent a lot of obsolete values in (which should be totalled and converted to 2nd class).I need to think of something new here...3

We received a batch of stamps on 19th April. We sent stamps in booklet format - Royal Mail returned stamps in sheet format.Hardly a like-for-like swap (as per their enclosed letter) is it? Why can't they send booklets?Again, no additional £6.85 in stamps to cover the special delivery service that we used to send the stamps. So we called Royal Mail, and after a 12 minute wait, someone answered the phone. They said they would forward the £6.85 but could not deal with the like-for-like problem and would have to make enquiries and call us back.Of course, we received no call back, so we called them again today (20th).We were told that RM are not sending out like-for-like (as stated in their letter) so no booklets, only sheet stamps. What a shambles.0

It is like for like in the sense that you send stamps and get the same value back (and the SD cost after a further request). Whether it's books or sheets of stamps doesn't seem an enormous problem to me.

Where does it state they will swap like-for-like?petersy said:We received a batch of stamps on 19th April. We sent stamps in booklet format - Royal Mail returned stamps in sheet format.Hardly a like-for-like swap (as per their enclosed letter) is it? The form just says " We will swap your old stamps to the value of today’s tariff." which is what you have got.

The booklets have a different number of stamps in them (4 and 8 instead of 6 and 12) so offering an exact swap would not be possible. And what do you expect them to do about partly-used booklets? What do you expect them to do about the odd value stamps that people are sending in, stamps that aren't produced any more?petersy said:We received a batch of stamps on 19th April. We sent stamps in booklet format - Royal Mail returned stamps in sheet format.Hardly a like-for-like swap (as per their enclosed letter) is it? The solution here is simple, cut off a section of the sheet, fold it in half, and ta-da! A makeshift booklet.0
