Vendor not responding

Soo frustrated and worried …
We’re FTBS, when we went to view the house beginning of September, the vendor said they would either move in the with family or rent when the solicitors were ‘ready’.
our solicitor is still waiting for the vendor to fully respond to enquiries, it’s a question about if they intend to move out with family or rent.
the vendor has been quite vague with their initial answer, so our solicitors are pushing for clarity.
they clearly haven’t found anywhere yet. We’re worried now that they may pull the house off the market, no doubt the value has probably increased a little since we offered.
any advice welcomed, be kind 😘

I think one of the problems is that many say they will move in with family or rent but when it comes to it, they can't quite face doing either. They hope you will hang on until they find somewhere else

Ring the EA and start viewing other properties. Easier to control factors that you can.8

Renting short term is far easier said than done. Once they look into what's available, consider the hassle of moving twice, consider being locked into a min 6 months agreement or going into an expensive short term let, they'll quickly change their mind. If they have pets it makes it even harder.dizzyduch said:Soo frustrated and worried …

You need to keep your options open, and look at what else is on the market. As prices have risen, though, you may find little comparable at the price. Can you afford to stretch your budget at all?dizzyduch said:Soo frustrated and worried …

That EA has nothing the suits us, but we did look at another house over the weekend, £50k more than the one we’ve offered on. Thing is the same situation could arise with a new house too…feel stuckThrugelmir said:Ring the EA and start viewing other properties. Easier to control factors that you can.0 -
We can stretch by about £50k but very little choice at the moment, housing market is crazy.GDB2222 said:

They’ve got young kids so trying to be patient with them because I can just imagine how it is for them, but nevertheless worrying and frustrating for us.MaryNB said:

Other EA's are available. Do you monitor Rightmove and other online portals ? Spoken to other EA's?dizzyduch said:

Exactly, this is the idea.dizzyduch said:

Check with your solicitor what is outstanding from their perspective. If they say a, b, c enquiries, then ask for a clear status update from the EA, on when the vendors will respond to those and whether they have found a purchase / where that has reached. State you need it to be within X time (something reasonable for what's outstanding) and trust that if the vendors are serious, they will make that happen outside something unexpected, and if not then you will start viewing elsewhere at that point. Then after X time, start viewings with that EA - even if its a property you're not so keen on, it shows them you're serious.1
