just filled up today- diesel.
Huge difference in price already by what is on sale locally & the big supermarkets 14 miles away. I wanted a lot of things at Mr T but the one thing I couldn't buy was fuel: no diesel!!!
Slight detour to Sainsbury's luckily only 1 penny more.....still.9 pence cheaper than Shell locallyBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

haha - not where I am Floss - if a change that is likely to increase prices upwards gets announced in a budget around lunchtime, then by the time I pass the two petrol stations going back into town from the motorway after work shortly after 6pm both will already have put prices up!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Bus fares went up yesterday in my area.
I went to Ald. for the first time in 3 weeks. I did a quick calculation of the shopping in my trolley - no more than £20 - it came to £22. Very low on eggs in the shop and I was desperate so had to buy some that were more expensive than my usual purchase.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Flavour update!
Just finished the last portion of slow cooked chicken in chopped tomatoes with Ras El Hanout. it was very tasty even with the teeny chilli kick (yes, it has chilli, but one of the last on the list) I have also given some to friends to try out as the only shop where I could get it locally sold rather large tubs. (well, a good bit bigger than usual spice jars)
Thanks you whoever suggested that.
I also bought Sumac- untried as yet
Today I found some Za'atar in Mr T. So that's also inline for trying in the future.
Thank you all!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Good morning chums small shop this morning as its coffee morning, and as I have so far only bought a kilo of granulated sugar this month (been eating from my freezer) i'm hoping by only buying strict essentials I can keep it low.
I know I need some fresh veg, and a few odds and ends I have run out of, but my list is quite short.
The coffee in Dobbies is my freebie one, so thats Ok.
Only 41 days to Christmas and I have literally cut back on everything by eating from my cupboards, freezer, etc so I can do a big shop just after Christmas.
I am away for a week in December so not too bad. No doubt I will find a good few things have gone up in price, but I'm sure I will adapt what I have.
Onwards and upwards chums, we will get through this COL crisis by careful shopping and streeetching the food.
Take care all, wet and windy in Kent for the next few days
JackieO xx

Just thought with the shortage of eggs, if it's for baking you can easily use substitutes.
Most of my family are vegan so if I bake I tend to substitute eggs. I realise everyone probably knows this in oldstyle - but here's a reference.
