It suits the narrative that everything needs to be tightly controlled by the powers that be for everyone's safety. For large flocks of high economic value there may be a good, practical reason for keeping the fowl and wild birds strictly apart, but not for half a dozen backyard chickens where only netting is an acceptable barrier. Common sense measures, like keeping the food and water indoors, are sound. With pet chickens, any problems will be picked-up swiftly and the relevant bird isolated, regardless of the cause.

HI - delurking. We had a £80 Waitrose voucher via  a perks scheme at my DH's work and spent a chunk of it on a frozen FR turkey. The combination of that plus a £7 of a £70 shop and my weekly vouchers meant that we got a £90 for just over a tenner. That's Christmas sorted out...

The organisation for whom I work has just announced they are going to add an £800 COL bonus to our December salaries (which will be paid before Christmas) which is rather lovely of them. It'll be taxed of course, but still nice

I haven't been shopping in a supermarket for over 3 weeks as been using what we have in stock. I am sure that I will notice a rise in prices. I have never managed to run down my freezers so making a special effort.
I put the heating on when I feel chilly - been mild here but wet which makes me feel cold.
We feel Blessed as not used our pensioner's heating allowance from the past 2 years so have that as back up to cover bills.
Not many shops here seem to have poppies for sale this year.

We get to choose between 25 quid towards Christmas lunch or a 25 quid voucher. Which is better than nothing but only just. Might buy me a turkey.

I’m acutely aware that I’m very lucky 😌. They gave us an extra £1000 as a bonus in the summer (as a thank you for working through covid) too, but best of all is that I actually love my job.

I'm a public servant so no chance of a bonus, but we have been given an extra day's leave on 23 December as a thank you to staff.

My OH is a civil servant. No payrise in 2.5 years and no prospect of anything anytime soon.

I work in the private sector and haven't seen a payrise for far longer than that! I do enjoy my job though, and it's a great company to work for too. The sector I work in hasn't had a great time over the past few years though and frankly I'd sooner have a job going forwards than a payrise now and then subsequently no job. 

Just had my weekly glance at the Trolley site to check some trigger-products for further price rises - and no movement that I can see this week.

Mr F has gone off to post a Birthday card that I made this morning - recycling an old greetings card front - cost 10p for the card blank & envelope to make the card and nearly a £ to post it. 
Mr F took some stuff with him for the charity shop and has strict instructions to not spend any money while he was out - I await his return.
