I would complain about the assistant. There is no need to be that rude. Did you get her name by any chance?

Kaiserschmarn is delicious and in Austria is more normally eaten as a sweet main course filler rather than a dessert as such. I suspect it was something that would be produced in the winter when there was not much available. Providing the hens were laying and there was milk / fat for frying it could be made cheaply and home made jam or apple sauce would have been available at that time of year. In Austria it's quite common to see a plate of it being shared by a couple for lunch at a mountain hut. Definitely worth checking out. The pancake is very thick as the egg whites are whipped and then shredded during the frying process.

And I would most definitely be buying a turkey now and freezing it if it's important to you.9

Birds are in flockdown currently, so there's no point realistically buying Free Range. Meat can be labelled as FR for the next 8 weeks according to SimplePolitics, which generally is reliable.
Waiting for Tesco to give an instructions for ordering or I'll go through a friend (who knows a farmer and has been able to get a good price in the past). Mom ended up (due to supply issues with another farm) paying a fortune for a Turkey from the butchers last year and don't wish to do this again (and yes, we did make a contribution).💙💛 💔6 -
Im wondering why the Bird Lockdown is so much in the news at the moment. They went into lockdown in most parts of the country earlier in the year and were only just let out pretty recently. Eggs were stopped being labeled free range mid year. Last year our birds were in lockdown for a long time as well yet it wasnt on the news as much - if at all9

Since we began keeping chickens about six years ago, I think this is the fourth chicken lockdown we’ve had. Mine have a very big (covered) run for three birds but I feel so sorry for them 😢 they’re really pets, the eggs are just a bonus, and bless them they just love free ranging in the garden so much.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

A lot of farmers are cutting down on their flocks of laying birds because they are not getting the price they need to make a profit. The sspermarkets wont give them the price they need at a time where there costs are rising - electricity, feed etc.
