Seemed to be plenty of eggs in Dover Tesco this morning. We went down to get wine and beer for Christmas. I'm hoping I won't need to do another big supermarket shop with the car before Christmas. Next week I'm babysitting so will go to the Brogdale butchers on my way back from DDs.
Terrible weather here. Wet and windy.8 -
It's a bit grotty weather-wise here too - was raining when I left home (southern edge of Essex) this morning, was drizzly when I got to where I park the car for work (East London), I got mildly damp cycling from the car to the office and it's not showing signs of stopping any time soon so I suspect my usual lunchtime walk might not be happening either!
Debating about using my car for work travel tomorrow then filling up on the way home as it's low-ish on fuel. On the flip side though it's got enough to let me do all my usual local pottering about for some time to come yet so anything might have happened by the time it does actually need more diesel...🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Grocery delivery arrived this lunchtime - one (acceptable) sub but two items are dearer than when I ordered them on Sunday. A 6pt milk was £2.19, now £2.35 and a drum of salt was 55p, now 65p. These are staples I needed so I accepted them; had it been something I could do without I'd have been tempted to send them back. It's debatable as to whether they should have honoured the price at the point of ordering rather than point of delivery. One of the drawbacks of having deliveries rather than shopping in person, I suppose. Plus point - no shortage of eggs.
Annual health check yesterday, all good and just waiting for blood/urine test results. Not so good was the pharmacy next door that hadn't ordered my repeat prescription meds so I'll have to go back for them later in the week. Apparently my repeat prescription has run out and needs to be renewed by the surgery. Evidently, communication between the pharmacy and GP surgery is non existent! Note to self: diarise a reminder for myself to chase them in 6 months' time before it runs out again. Ah well, a bit of "free" exercise as it will mean an extra walk there and back.Be kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
My test results were also negative. Problem was it was an intelligence test! Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!14

Good evening chums I bought the bargain of the month today in Dobbies I took my grandson Jack to work then made my way to my normal Tuesday morning watering place (Our local Dobbies) and before getting my coffee I always have a quick mooch about the food hall part.
The lady I normally see was reducing stuff, and I spotted a reduced to £1.54 pack of couple of beef steaks from £5.15 complete with two small portions of black gsrlic butter.I snaffled two packs coming to £3.08
When I got to the till to pay for them I remembered I had a three pound voucher in their promotions flyer in my handbag so asked the lady if I could use it with the steaks .She took my loyalty card, and said yes no problem so I managed to get four steaks for a grand total of 8 p I don't think I have been so chuffed . So tonight's meal cost me 2p for the steak, and I've got it with salad and a sweet jacket spud. The other three steaks have been tucked away in my freezerwhat a bargain !!
There were about half a dozen packs there, but I was quite happy with two packs.
On Tuesday mornings they have a lunchtime delivery so anything getting near it SBD is drastically reduced the date on the pack was for tomorrow but once in the freezer they will make a nice meal at some point maybe after Christmas when I fancy something different from turkey left over .
I did the rest of my shopping for bits that I needed from my list and it came to under £12 so pretty happy with today shop

JackieO xxI think that will probably qualify as the bargain of the month.
And well done for leaving some packs for somebody else. 👍9 -
