Further update : I GOT THE HOUSE!
And only for a £3500 uplift.
The first buyer pulled out due to chain issues.

I put this here to give hope to others in the same situation, as it seems many first offers DO fall through. Yippee!!

    Congratulations.
And now the boots on the other foot, you will hopefully appreciate buying from someone who appears to have principles and, having accepted your offer, won't be considering higher ones from anyone else....

Congratulations - it’s such a lovely feeling at the best of times but none more so than in the current housing market.
I’ve just had an offer accepted today too so I really do share your delight!
  • Thanks twoLou for your generous comment - yes, my feelings exactly.
It is indeed a big relief!!

pOOHsticks - I don't know if she does or not. I also wrote to her when the agent refused to pass on my increased offer to say how much I loved the house - all totally acceptable. So I only have the agent's word for the 'chain issues' story.
