Also sometimes the first contact someone will have with Debt Management is when they inform you that money is going to be taken from your wages. They aren't supposed to do it that way but they are so snowed under with work that letters that should be sent aren't getting sent.
I thought that is something to do with tax and I've emailed my employer with a copy with letter, which I probably shouldn't. So hope to get this sorted. Is there any way to prevent deduction to be made from my wages? I said to them that ain't paying any money which I haven't took.0 -

When are you next due to be paid and when will you receive your payslip? That should detail and deductions. As you have now raised this as a fraud complaint it would normally be suspended before the next pay run, but that would take a couple of weeks so will only likely be actioned for a pay run at the end of February.0 -

I've already got paid in January. And next pay check I will receive at end of the February. I really hope this will get sorted by then.
Is that possible that the fraud case not to be successful finished?0 -

Be prepared for this investigation to take up to a year to resolve, but also keep in mind that it should have almost no impact on you whilst it is ongoing, although they may ask you for a few details, ID, confirm where you have lived, bank details so that they can confirm that the account was not yours etc.1 -

Thanks. When I spoke to them they said it can be solved in couple of weeks. Might call them again to find out if the payment will be suspended.0 -

Also you may wish to try:
UC Risk Review Team - 0800 169 0347 (If that number is still in place).
There was a unit set up to specifically deal with UC identity fraudYou can find your MPs name and contact details here, so that they can help you with (put pressure on) the DWP.There is also ICE-The Independent Case Examiner reviews complaints about certain government organisations that deal with benefits, work and financial support.
Do you have Legal Cover on your home contents insurance, that will cover ID theft? Or any other insurance policy with Legal Cover that will cover you? Often Legal Cover comes as a low cost, optional extra, but sometimes will be part of the insurance policy.
