The only thing I can think of is to persue the person you sent the goods back to. Small Claims type of thing.

I wonder if getting in touch with HMRC might open a can of worms for the recipient of the returned goods as it might be fraud to get someone else to pay the import duties. There may be a pattern but proving it might be impossible.
I don't think the company is a UK company so small claims court no help.

They appear to have been returned to a UK address though. Might have to go after the recipeint of the returned goods instead of the company.
Where do you see that they returned them to a UK address?

does this sound like a UK company?   - How long will it take to get my order?

A - All orders received by 3PM Eastern are shipping out the same day by expedited shipping, so you should have your order in a few days.

The OP has not said what address she returned the items to.  It may be a parcel hub that acts as a receiving depot with no company presence there.

The other  alternative is that the website the OP used was a scam website, as they say it is no longer available..

There is an 0161 phone number on the website. It was an assumption on my part that they were returned to a UK address. No mention of the company covering shipping charges fro the return and I would imagine OP would mention international charges if that was the case. Could very well be wrong though.

I was told to return items to: Return address: RMA Returns Dunton Distribution Centre Christy Way Basildon Essex SS15 6TR
Which seems by the name to be some kind of Delivery Hub.

I may have lost track of this, but isn't the OP saying that that website is not the one he ordered from?  Didn't he order from a fake website masquerading as that one which has since been shut down?

And they may have given him a UK "return" address, but who's to say whether that address has any connection to them at all?

I thought you said on the previous page that you only had a website and an email address - but no physical address?

Yes that is correct I only have the web site and email address for the company I ordered these items from.
I don't think the Return address is of any use for a refund.

In their first post, the OP said:
So I placed an order and received an acknowledgement for Five bottles, costing me £199 instead of the £39 the advert cleverly, led me to believe.
The same day I emailed the company complaining that this was not what there web site had said and after a lot of emails back and forth over the next few days I received a refund in full.
This thread is about import duties levied by the shipper (DHL)

I doubt there is a UK legal entity at that UK address capable of being sued.

There may not be but there must be a link between the recipeint and the company otherwise why send the goods to them?
It doesn't mean they have a right to sue them.

Many people offer these sorts of middleman operations for Chinese sellers, but your contract, and therefore your claim, is against the seller.

Having claimed a refund of the Duty from the seller, late yesterday I received the following email:

    Thank you for your email.

Following your request, we ordered the transaction of a full refund to your bank account today. The refunds are usually instant, but in some cases it might take 3-5 working days for the transaction to be processed. In case we send you an order by mistake, please refuse the package.

    Your account has been closed.

    Best regards,

    Louis, Customer Support Team

Just checked my Bank account but nothing has arrived to date, we will wait and see, fingers crossed.
