Scam claim for Customs Duty!!
Comments
-
It doesn't matter that it was a scam, the fact is that you've imported goods, DHL have paid duty on your behalf and you now owe them. The site was certainly fishy, but that's not DHL's problem.royP_2 said:But at the time of purchase I was not told that these items were coming from abroad, as far as the web site advised it was all from the UK.
Plus as I have now learnt the whole web site was a scam, Mary Berry never endorsed this company, plus the site has now been shut down by Microsoft.
All rather fishy to me.1 -
I think you've been quite lucky. Those capsules could have contained any old rubbish.

I'm writing a book on plagiarism. It wasn't my idea.1 -
So what do I do, pay up and forget it, or is there any way I can claim my money back.0

Problem being that this was not the web site I used, the web site I used has been shut down by Microsoft because it was a scam, using Mary Berry's name etc and not being honest about the cost.emmajones1976 said:Also, their website is still there. Look at the FAQ page:

"All orders received by 3PM Eastern are shipping out the same day"
3pm Eastern. In which case, its likely things were shipped from the United States.
I have found lots of people complaining about being over charged as I was, thankfully I did get a refund.0 -
I also agree that it is not the fault of DHL, but is there any way I can claim my payment back?0

Is there anything on the DHL paperwork that directs you to HMRC? If not, google 'import duty reclaim'.1

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ADVICE.Aylesbury_Duck said:Is there anything on the DHL paperwork that directs you to HMRC? If not, google 'import duty reclaim'.1 -
Some thing else I have noticed on the invoice it states Statistical Value [value used for calculation of Duty] is stated as £289.26 which is way over what I paid for the items imported. Non of this makes any sense.0
