Liverpool Airport VCS PCN: Some questions re: Defence

  • I have the contract between VCS and LJLA. It's not worth the paper it's written on.
  • When you say that it's not worth the paper it's written on, can you be more specific, please?
  • It's a saying, but in this case it's true. The contract, which neither side disputes exists, ran out in 2015. Also, it's not signed nor witnessed in compliance with UK government legislation. It's worthless.
  • According to the Status Summary on the MCOL site:
    • MCOL sent me an N180 on 31st Jan 2022
    • DQ filed by claimant on 17/02/2022

I posted my completed forms first class to both MCOL and VCS 11th Feb 2022 but nothing about my DQ appears on the summary. Is this something I need to follow up?

    Then send them again.

This time perhaps use the guidance on that checklist you were following when you filed your Defence.

Items 9 and 10 on that list state...
  • Ah, @KeithP where would I be without you!  Thank you (again!) for your help.
There's so much help on this site and I was following the advice here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5546325/court-claim-procedure-updated-october-2016/p1 (para 4).
I've sent a completed copy via email and received an acknowledgement, so hopefully no harm done.

  • I've just realised that when I referred to the PCN issue date in the defence document which I submitted, I've used the wrong date.
What, if anything, should I do about it?

You cannot change a defence once submitted, at least not without some cost!  You can probably correct it in your witness statement.  How much of difference is it?
  • I'm wrong by about two and a half years :#

I'll draw attention to it in my WS and give the correct date there.

It's nothing to worry about, a mere typo.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
