I read this and was horrified.

I genuinely do not understand why who you sell your house to really matters, you won’t  be living there any more.  

I’m glad the EA removed this property from their books.  Hopefully no other EA will take it on but I can’t see that happening

They could have gone about it a better way.

It is discrimination but if they were not informed would not have caused any issues.

Likely more common than we know and could be discrimination because of race, status etc

Who I sold my house to was a major factor in whose offer I accepted. I had amazing neighbours and I wanted to make sure that whoever bought the house would be decent people.

To say they are wrong based on their religious beliefs is discrimination in itself. Its an unpleasant scenario.

There is no place for discrimination for any reason. Thankfully, on the whole attitudes are changing, especially among the youngest generations of society. 

I'm sure the couple will probably find a better home in due course.

Ah yes, "if man shall lie with man, though shalt reject requests for their house viewing via Purplebricks' app".

I trust they have been just as diligent in vetting all other viewers for other types of "sinfulness". Or maybe this is just good old-fashioned bigotry rather than any genuine spiritual belief?

No it isn't. Can you find the passage in the equality act 2010 where it says that calling someone who happens to be religious homophobic is discrimination?

You are correct it is an unpleasant scenario - but it is all one way.

It will be tough for them to sell the house, since they can only entertain offers from cash buyers (due to the bible's views on interest), in certain professions, no unmarried couples, possibly no one born out of wedlock or males with particular injuries depending on, as you say, their diligence.

But they are wrong, and deserve to be shamed for what they have done.
