changearound1 said:I don't think it matters that the DD is every 6 months, but if it were me I'd want the February payment to come from the new Santander account. In other words, open the new account and transfer the DD over ASAP. The DD can be moved over as soon as you have the new account details - no need to wait for the current account switch to take place.

I know it's probably a silly question but how long do these switch offers normally last, like the last Santander one from last year.I manged a to book an oppointment in branch for the first week in March to switch into an existing account, be a shame if the offer is withdrawn before then.0

Zanderman said:You can switch to an existing account by phoning them, no need for branch visit or wait for an appointment (despite what the website says). I switched to an existing account by phone last week. Thanks for all the replies.I phoned Santander a few days ago on the normal customer service number and asked for the switcher team. The switch process started yesterday, even received an email with the terms of the cashback offer for switching. The branch I had the appointment actually rang me and told me phone as well, they must be busy in branch,0

The switch offer was quietly withdrawn on 13 March.
I had intended to chance another incentive but never got round to it

How long do Santander typically take to pay out?
I have met all the criteria and I'm currently paying out 2 DD a month.
My switch completed on the 11th Feb0
