Excel Parking Services LTD Claim (Previously titled DCBL - Notice of Debt Recovery)

Hello

I was wondering if anyone could advise me...

I have received a "Notice of Debt Recovery" for multiple unpaid parking charges from DCBL on behalf of Excel Parking Services Ltd.

I have not received any other correspondence, as the fines were issued in October 2020 and I have moved home several times since then. (Yes I have updated my V5 now)

I paid in full online for my parking at "Siddals Road", however, there were two car parks opposite one another both called the same name "Siddals Road" car park. Apparently I parked in the one which is owned by a different company to which I paid.

My question is, how do I ensure that all further correspondence is sent to the correct address? The DCBL letter was sent to my current address, but I'm not sure updating my V5 is enough to ensure Excel don't send future letters to my previous home. I really don't want to miss potential court letters!

I don't intend on paying the £640 fines, as it seems deliberately misleading to put two car parks by the same name next to one another and expect people not to get confused.

Many thanks

  • Firstly, you are being scammed by DCBL

You do not owe £640 and you have not received fines ... just plain old invoices

How many invoices and how much is each one

Please read the newbies at the top of the index page.  If the signage was unclear there is veey little chance of them getting a penny if they take you to court.

Does it talk about Excel having obtained CCJs (county court judgments)?

Or is it just a debt demand that says on the back that it is NOT subject to High Court Enforcement?

It states "this case is not subject to High Court or bailiff action"

I really don't want to miss any letters before court or court notices.

Can anyone advise me on how I can ensure correspondence gets to the correct address, as I'm guessing all prior post from Excel was sent to my old address

Search the forum discussions (change the search filters to 'newest' and this forum only and untick 'polls') for these words:

    'Rectification notice erase old address'

  • Thanks Coupon-mad

Can I just check I've got this right after reading a relevant thread...

So, I should send a rectification notice to the Data Protection Officer of Excel Parking Services Limited instructing them to erase my old data and replace it with my current address for service.

AND... just ignore the DCBL letters.

Also, do I send the rectification notice via letter/ email or both? Is there a way of knowing whether they have actually taken it into account?

the first 2 above, data rectification notice and ignore letters from dcb LTD

the DPO at Excel should confirm it by replying, insist on a reply stating that its been done if your rectification notice, dont assume they will do so, insist

also tell them to inform their sub contractors of the correcft address for service of papers

Send the rectification notice by email to their Data Protection Officer.
The email address of their Data Protection Officer is in all three of their Privacy Notices on their website.
  • Thanks everyone, one last thing...

In the email do i need to include a reference to PCN number, DCBL reference number, date of event or my cars number plate etc?

To prove you are who you say you are, you could include a copy of the PCN and/or your V5C if it shows the correct address.
