  • I hope the OP is safe and well.
Maybe he's put imagnary cheap tyres on his imaginary M4 and sent it backwards into an imaginary ditch so is now in imaginary hospital.

That is my fear, especially given the lack of familiarity with the high powered car and the excitement of it being new.

Coincidentally this one flashed up earlier - youth in newly acquired, high performance BMW with girlfriend  :open_mouth:

What's left of it sold for £2k through local salvage yard yesterday - can't see whether the splitter was intact

I can't see how there was £2k worth of usable parts left. 😲

Does illustrate the strength of a modern Beemer in a crash though. Hard to see how anybody could survive that!

There weren't - that was the topic of the thread elsewhere - the only 'part' wanted will have been the paperwork/numbers

A modern beemer is very strong in a crash.  However it depends what you hit and how hard you hit it.

I think the damage on that car shows just how in excess of any sane speed he was going, on a public road, in a built up area.

According to images speedo was stuck at 70mph/rev counter at 5,500rpm

It would surprise me greatly if that happened as there is an electronic link to the car not a physical cable driven one.

I see from other pictures its an M140i.  I'd say he was doing a lot more than 70MPH when he hit something in that.  Ours is built like a tank.

Silly speed to be driving at in a built up area.
