Thanks for the thread elsiepac
My targets for February are £80 per week so £320 for the month and to post here more often.
Today I have fed two people for lunch (myself and my teenage son aka the House Troll) and three for dinner (myself, the HT and my Looked After Person who has his evening meal with us twice a week and his mid day meal with us on a Saturday). I provide snacks for my LAP three evenings a week and twice on Saturday when he is here for the whole day. His mum reimburses me for his food spend on a Saturday in cash which goes into my purse or a tin on the shelf depending on my mood and which is sometimes used for takeaways.
We also have a cat. The cat would like to eat ham and chicken (raw or cooked chicken, she doesn't care) but to her great disappointment she is given cat food 99% of the time. On the plus side I've never needed an oven timer since we've had her. She tells the whole street at the top of her voice when a chicken is cooked..... Everything that everyone eats in this house is included in the £80.9 -
Hello,
I’d like to join you all this month. My budget is £50.00 per week to run from Feb 1st - 28th. It needs to cover all food/toiletries/household for myself and my OH. It will be nice if I can have some left over as on a very limited income from now on, but we will see.

£30.40 on dog food and treats for the month. We usually only spend around £20 but we bought an extra kilo of food to make sure it doesn't run out whilst we're away, some supplements and they were also out of a lot of the cheaper brands we usually buy.
£79.19/£200 spent so far.
Will probably do a shop tomorrow.
Takeaway budget is now up to £29.54/£50 after some unplanned meals.6 -

£103.78/£475.00 spent so far.Made the mistake of shopping while hungry - mince pie chocolate digestive anyone? (60p pkt)
Looking forward to haggis for lunch tomorrow (75p).
How does everyone organise their freezers and keep track of the contents? I have a 4 drawer upright and a large chest freezer. If you speak to OH the chest freezer is a black hole and he can never find anything. Have a couple of days off work this week so going to have a sort through them.9 -

I’m going to try for £80 this month please
This might be a tricky month to keep costs down as I’m not sure if I’ll be able to plan much in advance. I’ve got some major work to do to the house and I’m not certain when it’s starting. I do know it will involve the electricity being off for a while so I’ve had to run the freezer down and there’s no point in batch cooking for the month ahead at the moment. Never mind, I’m sure there will be time later to claw back any overspend just now.
Thanks for the comments and inspiration everyone. I’m really enjoying this challenge9 -
