Good to see that it's improved lately - I used it a bit when it first launched and was really disappointed to see local takeaways who listed every single night, with food that only seemed slightly different to their normal price (so it really seemed like it wasn't actually food waste, just a new selling place for them). I'm an Olio collector and it's a bit hit and miss. Some days are amazing and some days you wonder why you did it. I would say that the vast majority of stuff is listed between 8.45 and 9.15 in the evening (the scheduled collection time is 8.30pm) so if you find that there's not much in your area it might be worth looking at the busier time.
  • I got a Morrisons box last week - I have enough bread rolls in the freezer for three weeks now, loads of carrots, mushrooms, broccoli, with some fruit and salad. For £3, it worked out nicely for me. Soup and rolls for lunch for ages...
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

  • I'm not one to take chances but inspired by this thread, I've just downloaded the app and have a reservation for this evening. Its a punt so lets see how it works out :)

  • I did order a magic bag from a deli/newsagents that supplies local stuff such as curries made in a factory a mile from here, yoghurts from a dairy other side of the county etc. I got three loaves of bread - sourdough stick, small white sandwich and an artisan wholemeal. Plus two cheeses with fruit in (yuk! mum and dad got them) two cheese straws 30cm long and two yoghurts. Wish had less bread.
  • I got lucky - enough for a meal for 2, all veggie:

That looks amazing, I'd be well chuffed.
  • Do you have anyone who you would give any meat products to?

I do - deliberately picked up at a location near my parent's home, and unpacked it there so any meat stuff could be consumed there. None on this occasion, but it meant their lunch was sorted for today.

Have started to cotton on how the site works so have an order from a bakery for tomorrow, let's see what it brings.
