  • Yeah that's true! I just thought they may have sent acknowledgment of the request like we do in my occupation.

It is just a waiting game now :)

    Thank you again, Le_Kirk.

There's a big difference, I bet you don't work for any dodgy dealer operating at the margins of legality. You are not dealing with John Lewis here.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Hello All,

I've had a reply today from the CE Ltd Legal Team stating:

    "Dear Sir/Madam

We refer to your recent correspondence.

This Parking Charge Notice has been passed on to a Debt Recovery Agent. Should you wish to obtain copies of all correspondence sent to you by DCBL, please contact them directly with a separate request.

All further queries, including payments, must be directed to them.

Please follow the instruction on the correspondence you have received.

    Yours faithfully,

    Legal Team

    Civil Enforcement Ltd"

I'm rather confused, as the LBA was sent by CE Ltd (not DCBL) and states I had to reply to them within 30 days with completion of the form and payment.

Where do I go from here now?

    TIA.

All designed to confuse, it's all a bit of a mickey mouse.industry.

Assume they talk about DRP ?    CEL legal team .... that must be a joke, nobody deals with DRP or any debt collector and CEL are the so called creditor not a puffed up debt collector.

A SAR is a legal request to the creditor to provide the information.  If CEL want to play musical chairs then report them to the ICO

Whether it's CEL or DCBL who sent the LBA, it's an LBA and so you must respond and you can be factual

1: You advise them that you deny any debt. You do not complete any forms and you do not pay
2: You require a further 30 days as you are seeking debt advice (send on day 27 of the LBA date
3: You require their legal authority to add the extra amount.

Then you wait.  BUT YOU NEVER DEAL WITH A MICKEY MOUSE DEBT COLLECTOR

Reply and tell them how stupid they clearly are.

  • Thank you for that - I thought my SAR was a reply to the LBA letter and the 30 days expired on the 21/01/2022.

Do I still follow this up and respond to the letter? If yes, do I need to post this?

Shall I chase CE Ltd for the SAR too?

    Sorry for the questions.

    Thank you!

When did you submit the SAR?  Companies have 30 days to respond.
  • I submitted the SAR on the 12/01/2022. They sent me the LBA on the 22/12/2021 but it wasn't received at the incorrect address until the 30/12/2021 (due to postal delays/holiday season) then further delay to get to me.

They declined the SAR request, which they would've had until the 11th of February 2022.

If they declined the SAR without good reason, complain to the ICO.
