chicker said:Hearing about MG stuck in a lift this morning was the highlight of my day. They said it was the bbc one xtra lift (apparently their lifts each play a different station) so he was probably listening to something awful. Hilarious!
I got one verse into a song to the tune of "Santa Claus got stuck in the chimney"
Today my big plan is to move the animal textiles (towels, cage covers, cage fleeces) into the wicker chest in the sitting room (shopped from home a la @Foxgloves_2 ) so I can see the bootroom.
Also try to buy a secondhand aga for no pounds and no pence since the engineer's installing bill was triple what I hoped.
Overpayments - we have an offset mortgage. Does putting them in the offset account, well, count?6 -
You are the one counting - do it as you wish! (Actually I think it does)Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -

Well I got the garden cushions in the chest then ran out of space for the towels.
I've done some washing and a lot of messing today, I've been exhausted.
Had a teams meeting with my master's supervisor and I'm suspending it for a year.
DH is due a huge op soon.
Tomorrow I have loads of new job forms to complete.
NSD and so would yesterday have been if DaughterofSatan hadn't made off with half a loaf of bread.4 -
Welcome back! I can see you're right at home already - I've been away for a week, so missed all the starting fun. Congratulations on the smallholding! How big is it? What are your plans? I really wish I'd had the courage to go for a smallholding when I was in my 30s, I'm so glad you've done it. Congratulations on the job too - got to run concurrently for quite a while, sadly, but great to wfh.
Sorry to hear about your OH's op though, that's distressing. I'm just loving the names you choose - DaughterofSatan, good griefthat's brilliant.

It is 8 and a bit acres. We've an orchard but honestly the rest is Ponyplops' and Bigorse's domain.
It is lovely to be away from people except for lovely NDN.6 -

Because I am no longer applying for jobs I intend to defrag the house today.
I hope you re-fragged the house too...????!!!
NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4 -
It sounds wonderful! Chickens, a herb garden, greenhouse, anything of that sort? Wildflowers for the horses' hay? What sort of fruit/ nuts in the orchard?
So you've stopped blogging too? Do tell, as we started together - my guess is that the reality of actually *having* a smallholding took precedence! A schoolfriend recently got in touch with me and while she and her husband had full time jobs in their 20s, they re-built a stone cottage, stone by stone, and eventually started up a few businesses there - a self contained rental, and an electric bike company, which is unusual. But health comes first, for you and your OH and all your family.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
