Glad you won't have to miss your DD too long. I'm next due to see DS towards the end of May unless we meet up anywhere at Easter... No plans as yet...
Glad that your aga will be sorted soon. Sounds like it's been a huge amount of work and you have achieved loads. You too come across as very courageous.newgirly said:Happy Aga day! 😆🎂🍾🥂

"Are there any other bits anywhere?"
Nope, just that one pallet.
"Oh. The side panels are missing"
This is quite a big bit (s) to go missing. We double check. No side panels. I message the seller. I'm quite calm because I google and you can buy them online. Engineer gets on the phone to find some in stock 45 miles away. Bundle two Labradors, DH and self in car, find lovely people with panels, admire their dogs, get back on the road to come home. Promised to be back by 11.35.
Need diesel so stop at a garage I'd seen on way down (my side of dual carriageway). No diesel AT ALL. Car has now done 30 miles after fuel light went on. Come off main road having googled other garage. No diesel. Panicking a bit, wondering whether to ring my Dad and ask him to come & collect panels while I try to fuel car (silly idea). Google garages again. Call two, no diesel. Call third..."do you have diesel?"
"We do at the moment"
Hotfoot it to garage where they are running out of diesel pump by pump. Get in queue. 30 litre limit.
FINALLY get enough diesel to get us and aga side panels home, 30 min later than promised.
Lads doing a great job...
Panels just in time. They worked til 7.15 when a test broke a part on the meter...and by the way your boiler is leaking, we've had to disconnect it...
Aga off, boiler off, no logs left, cooker in garden...brrr
Engineer came back today, sorted it all. She's getting up to temp now and warmed our dinner. Dogs have not twigged yet.
Meet Ember (I know she's a lump of cast iron but I've kept her out of landfill!)
I haven't finished the wall behind yet.

Oh my word! The picture's *so* beautiful, and how proud you must be to have kept Ember out of landfill! But what a terrible time you had! Er, I have compensation as a theme at the moment ... any chance for you? And what was it like for you DH to be in a car all that time?
Glad to hear she's getting up to temp, anyway. Enjoy!2023: the year I get to buy a car6 -
I think it was *quite* a genuine mistake by the seller. She agreed to refund me half the cost of the panels (all I asked for since the stupid couriers I chose messed her about and she was so nice about it). I think that's fair to us both.
DH coped well, he is starting each day with 15 spoons instead of 12 so that's progress. Chemo 2 The Revenge starts soon.7 -

Today I have found someone to look at the faulty boiler, washed the wall-to-be-painted, descaled my kettle, DW and WM. Ooh and cleaned the DISGUSTING cutlery drawer.
I need to book opt and dent appts.
